Simply0wn | CAP 90 | PVE | JSRO
Re: Simply0wn | CAP 90 | PVE | JSRO
Anyone else suspecting there is another dupe bug? The alchemy some have done shouldn't be possible at this point.

this guy with that +9 spear. omg thats really impossible in my eyes.
+7 is possible and kinda easy with immortals and astrals.

Who as +9 ?
Re: Simply0wn | CAP 90 | PVE | JSRO
Well, yes and no.
Could be how some of that alchemy was funded, but it has nothing to do with dupe bug.
I found a way to gain unlimited money and reported it, so that's why they took the server down.

No idea. Maybe if they notice other people abused it.
P.S.: Sorry to ruin any plans you guys had to play tonight.

Re: Simply0wn | CAP 90 | PVE | JSRO
I'm not the GM, so can't tell.
The bug consisted of an NPC item having a higher sell price than its buy price, so for now I'm guessing they'll just adjust that. If they can check whether someone abused it though, no idea what will happen...
EDIT: We have a Discord chat from before the wipe still. Was never very active though. https://discordapp.com/channels/1740446 ... 1148112897
Your link doesn't take me to the channel btw.

Re: Simply0wn | CAP 90 | PVE | JSRO
man, this sucks lol
and yeah that's kind of a rookie mistake, i remember abusing that @ some psro but since the economy had diff numbers you couldn't really abuse it to get any advantage since killing monsters would give you more gold but because rates are almost normal.. meh, gg
edit: i'm a noob, i'll join urs then xD
edit2: it also doesn't take me to other channel, ur link xD

Re: Simply0wn | CAP 90 | PVE | JSRO
quite a few people leaving the server, not sure why? they're working on some pretty good looking updates, i think people are being impatient if anything. i'm enjoying the server, i do really wish there was FW but i dont think that'll happen. when they raise the job rates it'll be interesting that way

Nefarious if you're quitting please hand the leadership to someone else, maybe even if you're just planning on not playing often.
Re: Simply0wn | CAP 90 | PVE | JSRO
No need for these talks of mutiny. I said I was going to play Fallout 4's newly released DLC for a bit.
EDIT: For those retards that still didn't understand, I WAS playing FO4. Anyway good riddance, no idea why you even bothered to join again.

Re: Simply0wn | CAP 90 | PVE | JSRO
considering i've been playing on this server from day one and that i've had other experiences as well on this lovely game since 2006, i got the following opinion and ideas i'd like to share with you all:
- focusing the game on PVE is unsustainable on Silkroad if the purpose is to maintain its glory and memberbase, i believe in this because of some facts:
. What happened when Joymax increased caps and when alchemy started being more and more demanding? Why do you think servers started being a ghost town and bot infested? Why do you think it wasn't like that before?
. When SRO was at its highest point (60&70 cap) how did the servers fed themselves? If a server feeds itself when a new player joins and finds an active community with a working ecosystem, a ladder to climb, friends to make, etc. What lessons can we take from caps where alchemy was basic and pve besides hunting uniques was in general used to get capped so people could start tagging along with friends gathered through the journey of getting capped to get jobbing, fight at guildwars, 1vs1? Was it more about the hottest items? Or was it more being an active player among the community creating jobwars and opportunites for people to enjoy the game together?
. When a player joins the server, what is more atractive? Finding people grinding/botting? Or finding people pvping and jobbing? What makes them want to login and play the server? Be a part of what exactly? If we know communities make activity, why would they long to play in each scenario? How could they enjoy themselves more?
I've got a lot more thoughts and ideas and considering nobody owns the truth and that even though i'm bringing out historical facts it all still is a little subjective, these points allow me to explore some of the following thoughts:
- It's time for you to decide wich kind of server you want to be regardless of each players subjective opinions.
. I believe you have to decide if you want to be a grinding server where people need to grind a lot in order to be able to compete. Or if you want a server where the grind is competition itself, this'd be achieved by focusing players and their grooming around jobbing and narrowing the power gap between starters and regular players, promoting status and creativity.
- My personal subjective opinion is you should choose to make it a legit server based on 60 cap's environment wich Venture tried to reproduce, imho it's the only way to achive a way to have the server feed itself as i previously mentioned. I'd make it for ppl to grind for avatars/silk/whateverisjustforshow and then ppl could start jobbing right after getting capped with a system of narrow alchemy as in easy blues hard +'s being +5 an incredible achievement, +7 legendary, +9 almost impossible, to reproduce how special someone used to be when they'd hold a +7 @ 60 or 70 cap. Through jobbing you'd be given the best and fastest way to do alchemy and get gear.
This is my opinion concerning the actual state of the server, wich is almost dead and not capable of feeding itself. Thank you for your time if you consider my post, cheers and much kudos for the server, wich i like nevertheless because of the folks i've encountered ^_^
