I've been looking at the new Electus server and Pioneer. Electus is 90 cap Chinese only and Pioneer 100 cap EU/CH. Both appear to be really popular. Though I'd play anywhere Saya goes.

TBH Pioneer totally turns me off due to one thing alone without even considering anything further, you can go up to +15 gear wise, RAWR. Can't get myself to play a server like that xD

I've been on electus since the beginning with huge break in the midle. The server is active and entertaining, jobbing is awesome, but server is overcrowded with brainless arabs and turks. I enjoyed my time so far.

Hmmm... I haven't given up on simplyown yet. If it doesn't come back I might just stop, since the type of servers I'm interested in are pretty rare and don't attract a lot of people anyway.

Some things I'd look for:
- 100 cap or lower (without any of the new systems)
- No bots, keypressers, multiclient,...
- Low rates (possibly slightly higher SP gain)
- All Pay 2 Win elements disabled (devil spirit, premium, scrolls, magic POP,...)
- No academy
- No SUN items (possibly even no MOON items depending on the cap)
- Difficult alchemy
- No retarded edits
- Crowley is not there
- Just kidding about the previous point or am I?
- Etcetera...

(Bonus points if the server's community isn't mainly coming from ePvP and has a decent mastery of the English language.)

About CH only servers... I have no problem with Chinese characters, but they are pretty boring to grind and useless in parties.

I also highly doubt those online player counts for Electus & Pioneer are truthful. Either they're filled with botters who each run multiple characters or they're simple lies (or a combination of both).

I agree in most points. Usually the "popular" servers are full of goldbots to farm stones, elixiers, whatever. In the end people who bot most have the best sets with 80-100% stats. I don't want and can't keep up with that. Another thing is the tons of SoX types (why the heck you need 5 types of SoX - everyone simply wants the best type of SoX) in such server and the focus on selfish gameplay (uniques, CTF, jobbing). I probably could list more reasons.

I don't mind having a few silk items in item mall but these must be obtainable with ingame activities ingame too (e.g. login events, quests, dungeons, BA, SA). Also, not every newer content that got released after 100 cap is bad in my eyes. There are many nice things like BA, new dungeons, Job Temple etc.

Some ideas (probably not many will read them here but anyway):

Rates:

In early game the rates to level up should be high to give newcomers a chance to catch up. Rates in the higher levels should be pretty hard to encourage PT play. For example, cap level minus 10 to 15 levels below. That way new players can get into PTs quickly. Maybe make start level in this range after some time the server opened.

Equipment:

There should be auto-equipment until the last degree. Endgear should be limited to one type only and be obtainable by different ways (no other sox types). Different players, different preferences. For example, one prefers questing, or pvp, or dungeons or jobbing etc. Endgear should be made account-bound. Every of these activites could be rewarded with the same type of coins. Daily or weekly limits would be useful (quest once per day, BA x times a day, dungeon re-entry limits etc).

Alchemy:

There should be an +ing limit of +10 for example. Alchemy with tablets and assimilation stones to prevent 80-100% stat sets. Keep the original glows.

Summary:

Server should focus on team activities and a fair gameplay. No-bot and 1-char-policy.

Ok, my turn.

Server I'm looking for is maybe very different. This is mainly because I play jsro, and I could play a private server as well to experience things that are difficult or expensive in jsro.

1. Maybe I don't really care much about level cap, but what really matters is content.
2. Both EU and CH. CH don't offer full time support role, and therefore not suitable with my play style.
3. I'm not so sure about EXP rate... There is one little problem about me - I have too high demands on PT, guild organization quality, and anything else. As result, most of the time I prefer to play with just a few friends, in a small PT. However, PT hunting requires 8 people to make it most effective. So... I don't mind to have very high EXP rate - x100, x500, x1000, or even instant max level! Yes!!
To make a few things clear:
- I already play jsro that offers me the best PT hunting experience
- When I play private servers, most of the time I am either alone or in a small PT

4. Reasonable donation balance. I think no need to explain it in detail.
5. Active BA and job war. Having SA would be great!
6. Although I don't care about fortress war, sometimes I still want to participate. But in most private servers, fortress war takes place when it is almost morning in Japan. None of my Japanese friends can play at this time, obviously. So it would be nice to have fortress war at earlier time, but that's maybe very difficult...
7. Many servers have stupid things, I can't list them all - sometimes they are very unpredictable. I'll just give a few examples of what I don't want to see: CTF with rewards for individual kills only, rewards for kills in job war (1 kill - 1 job coin, or something like that), disabled support buffs, all the cleric heals with CT of 1 minute (yes, one of private servers had that - I have no idea how they imagine standard pt hunting with *that*), etc.
8. Instance dungeons are fun to play. So if server cap is 110, it should have forgotten world and pharaoh tomb. If server cap is 120, it should have hall of worship and zealots hideout working like in original, etc.
9. Preferably no bot and no multiaccounting (I say multiaccounting and not multiclient - running more than 1 char is still possible with 2 computers). If I have to choose only one - either no bot server but multiaccount is allowed, OR server that allows bot but without multiaccounting, then I better prefer a server with bot. In my opinion, multiaccounting ruins game much more than bot.

As far as I can tell, the server is actually pretty decent

They basically replicated good'old ZSZC, but with vSRO-file features. Not bad.

I will give the server a fair chance if Crowley plays too
