Well, the mentioned their internationalization strategy briefly in the text I quoted above:

" Silkroad 2 "Chinese mainland official website will be released in the near future, while the globalization strategy has been launched in Europe, America, Korea, Japan and other countries starting eleven operational cooperation, and to create a world-class cultural masterpiece online.

Ah, I only glanced at that before running to work. I just saw Europe and America and thought of iSRO all over again.
Region based servers would be quite nice, granted SRF would be mostly in Europe..

Personally, if I was a European I would change to NA servers if the latency was ~100-150. More or less to avoid irritating tr players if they don't have a server in their region.

Being a huge silkroad fan, I will try this game because I've played silkroad since I was younger and I still play it today. Thank you for this and I'll check it out. :) :)

Looks horrible IMO (graphically). They shoulda stuck with the same SRO engine while making it a little more crisper.

Would I try it? maybe first few weeks, after which bots will overrun it anyways.

yeah even though the trend with these games is to go f2p and generate revenue with cosmetic sales, joymax might not have gotten the memo and keep with the whole pay to win grind fest model. WHich will actaully make the game fail hardcore in todays market...

Indeed, if it does have a similar item mall like iSRO's it'll fail.
Nobody is going to want to grind 10 year to cap while paying ~$40+ a month just to keep up with others.

I'm already turned off by the screenshots, hopefully something can redeem this game for me.

In the "Professional" section there seems to be a "class" that has katar as a weapon. Katar is an Arabian style weapon, but those characters there look very european for some reason.
It seems to be:
rogue/dual blader - arbian
archer - chinese
wizard - european
katar class - arabian(european?)
polearm class - chinese
warrior - european

I do hope they are going to add more weapon types, because that is very much lacking at the moment. Also, the skill system looks weird, hope it's still going to be masteries.

Also, at the bottom of the page, there is a register button, interesting. And there is a charge button to buy ingame currency named Zhuo Yi credits (translated), don't know what's up with that.

Oh I remember the KSRO days when I made about 20+ accs for friends and other people, because none of them could do it themselves.

I doubt that. SRO had pretty low res but the characters and the environment matched well together without the characters looking ridiculously jagged (also very good color palate)
This game looks like the environments were made specifically for that picture while the characters are from 2005. also very shitty Perfect World type color palate. Look at 4rd picture, compared to this:

For someone who only played games with subpar graphics I can understand why that would make sense.

The original Guild Wars compared to SRO is like comparing Minecraft to Battlefield 3, no contest.

Yeah, I've thought that too, everything went together really well. In alot of MMOs that have come after SRO, it's as if the characters aren't a part of the environment.

All the pics on the official page.
Spoiler!

There seems to be a skill meter on the bottom of the screen. The durability system will be back aswell, as you can see on one pic in the top right corner. The underbar looks pretty good actually, and we can use two more keys, those orbs on the side are weird, since HP and MP are already there in the corner. Don't know what that 3rd bar under MP is supposed to be. There's a flag on some of the pics in a town type area which might have something to do with the area occupation system thing (basically FW) they wrote about. Also I noticed what looked like NPC traders, interesting.

And look at those pics:
Spoiler!

There's a thing next to the right side of the underbar. That thing says WASD on it. We might be able to switch between movement modes.

I don't know if I would say that, but the game as shown in the pictures above surely lacks a lot of textures and details. The graphics seems pretty "raw".
That is, however, what we can expect from early screenshots (same as with Silkroad 1 back in 2004 when the first pics were released).

I expect the game to improve a lot detail-wise before it is out of open beta.
