Is Blader worth going hybrid?
Is it worth it for a blader to go hybrid?
the Pluses are
Higher Damage
Higher Crits
Easier Use of Snowshield
More Magic Defense
the Minuses are
Less Health
Less Phy Defense
Less Phy Damage
Now in theory a hybrid blader should work out very well, not too hybrid but like 5:1. In Theory, but that might not be the case. I need to know if tis work sacrificing my STR stats for the bonuses received by those Int Stats? Will being able to use 25% Snowsheild more easily really help? Is the damage increase worth it? Will my crits suffer because of it? Is the magic bonus enough?
This blader is a 90Bich/90Fire/90Ice/30Light wearing Protector btw and im looking for closer to cap/end results.

Re: Is Blader worth going hybrid?
wonder where that hybrid force blader went. BladeSkillz i think was his srf name.
Hybrid blader would do more non-crit damage which is good since theres a lot of shield users but it'd die faster from pure str euro's, unless you go prot or have snow shield on.

is 5:1 too hybrid, im still largely STR based and i pretty much own any Euro STR my lvl+3 if im using Ice. So would having more imbue damaeg not increase my damage on crits? for would the +from imbue and the -from STR basically make my crits the same as b4...

Re: Is Blader worth going hybrid?
The purpose of going hybrid is increasing your base damage. For Chinese, after getting the actual variables, critical =
Since Strength based characters have higher Bp their apparent critical (that is the change from base damage to critical damage) will be greater. A critical for an INT based character is barely noticeable whereas a critical for a STR character is very obvious. The goal of hybridizing is to make your base damage greater while sacrificing critical damage.
Where an INT may hit "~(50*2)+500 = 600" consistently a STR may hit "(350*2)+100 = 800." A STR's Bp is greater than an ints Bp thus a STR's crits should be greater, in theory. Playing the game shows this to be true as INT crits don't provide a significant different or increase in damage whereas STR crits show a significant difference and much higher damage. In both cases the multiplier for Bp is a constant "2." By going Hybrid you decrease your reliance on critical hits in PvP and increase your chances of killing because your base damage is high. I was building a Hyb Blader on Ecsro because, personally, I believe HYBs are far better than Pures.
- Let Base Physical be Bp
- Let Critical be C
- Let Base Magical be Bm
Code: Select all
(Bp*2)+Bm = CSince Strength based characters have higher Bp their apparent critical (that is the change from base damage to critical damage) will be greater. A critical for an INT based character is barely noticeable whereas a critical for a STR character is very obvious. Re: Is Blader worth going hybrid?
I was thinking the same thing as you, I wanna be a hybrid blader. And I'm gonna use ice imbue =]
I'm going pure str till 30, then 2:1 till 60 then from there onwards I'm alternating every 10 lvls. E.g. from 60 - 70 pure str, 70 - 80 2:1 and so on and so forth. I've no idea if this build will work though. I'm gonna get plvld to lvl 60 very soon, so we'll find out. I used nivlam to calculate that at 60 I'll have approximately 7.5k hp and 3.5k mp, if I was pure str, I would have approximately 8.k hp and 2.5k mp, so my build at 60 gains 1k mp and loses 1k hp. And with 7.5k hp at 60 I don't think I will die often. + I will be using armor.

Yeah, a pure str hits for, lets say, 2.5k base dmg and 5k crit.. a hybrid hits 3.5k base and still 5k crit.. which is better?

The best way out - is through.

ok thats puts it into a nice perspective. Too hybrid and i lose that base phy advantage but just enough hybrid and the str that i lose will be made up for but the int i gain+ i'll have higher base damage...

Re: Is Blader worth going hybrid?
I cant really comment on a blade build, but judged on the data of str hybrid bow it was concluded that 88% - 90% phy naked balance was an ideal amount. It provided higher crits than a pure str damage while still dealing more average damage per hit. I think it was posted by liquidsmooth or some other random member ( i get confused between him and the guy who posted the 70:70 build ), it caused a pretty big debate but in the end he had the results to back himself up.

Since I don't want to post a new thread and have some troll flame me, I'll hijack this one for a few posts.
What would be the most beneficial hybrid for a Bicheon, Fire, Force blader. Vitals decrease phys and mag defense so to make the most of their weakness what would boost my imbue and still have a high physical attack power?
