Spear Hybrid Nuker, Continue or Start Over?

Ok so I have a hybrid nuker, Stats are Str 90, Int 182, My phy. balance is 63% while my mag. balance is 91%. All my equipment gives me Int +19. Fire is my main force and lighting is my sub. My question is, what is a good blance to keep between phy. and mag. At first I would put 2 stat points into Int and 1 into Str 1 for some odd levels, I forgot. But everyone kept raving about pure Int nukers so I decided to put all my stat points into Int everytime I leveled, I'm currently level 43 and sp farming. Should I keep putting my stat points into Int or what should I do? I find myself getting 1 shotted or 2 shotted very often in pvps. Please help.

I'm not much of a PvP'r but there's a few things you have to consider when doing PvP.

1. What's the other player's level (Higher than yours?)
2. What's the other layer's gear (SoX?)
3. Are you doing one on one (Getting hit by minor splash?)

I'm a L30 nuker w/ only 1068HP. I wear protector that's pretty much "stock". My weapon is a L29 +1 Spear (no mods). Mag bal is 93 and phy is around 58 I think.

The other day a fire str glaive wanted to fight me, L29 in armor. It was a no-pot battle and he got in a few good hits, but only got me to 1/3 hp before I killed him. I think he took 1 fire, 1 lit, and maybe 1 more fire, but I can't rem what I did to kill him.

Another day ago, I was doing a trade run with a friend and had a hunter suit on. I accid misclicked on a theif rather than the npc theif and his camel got a nuke. He got off and fire nuked me twice and took off maybe 1/2 hp per nuke (don't know his level and I wasn't trying to fight him so I was running away).

The point is, gear is what makes or breaks your build. Tell us about what you use. Also, what is your weapon sweup and skills? You can have an awesome build setup, but if you don't use awesome gear in PvP, you're bound to get killed. So if you don't have "godly gear" don't worry about getting one-shot/two-shot in PvP, it's expected A nuker is supposed to nuke, then ghost walk away. I cna't do that *yet*, but when I do, lots of fun

its a good balance pretty much, add a little more INT so that you have about ~85-90% without equipes and your fine

I sport a level 42 spear +4 i made with int+3, I have full silver and gold scale armor with int or str+. my chest and hose are both sos. I can hold my own against someone my lvl sometimes. but someone even remotely higher than me by 1 or 2 levels and im dead.

i would put the rest from this point forward into str.... my balance is 70/79 (phy/mag)... i can 1-shot nuke a pure int 3-4 levels above me... i can handle 2-3 level of pure str above me, both glavie and bladers... i haven't tried anymore than that tho... those battles above have all happened without zerk... yes, they took me down to about 1k of hp left, but i still defeated them nonetheless... as with the nuker, it was a matter of getting the first shot off...

so far my build has proven to be quite useful... as you stated above, you will get 1-shotted, which is normal from a pure int user... since you're a hybrid, you won't be able to take a full high ranged hit from a pure int user... u never will be able to unless you're a pure str... assuming you guys are on the same level... but there are different benefits to each... for example, if i see an enemy wearing armor, i will resort my attacks to using mostly nukes... and it goes the other way for garment wearers... i would then attack them with all physical attacks..

you mentioned that you didn't like to be 1-shotted, and the reason people rave about pure int nukers is because they 1-shot their enemies... well, bad news, can't have the best of both worlds... so even if you rerolled and created a pure int, you could 1-shot others, but they would also 1 shot you...

well, this is just my opinion, and as a hybrid, my experiences... if you have any other questions, SG (if you're still around) can chime in as well... Sui even has a guide on this...

if you wnat to stay a nuker, add int. you should be fine as a hybrid spear though.

so whats a good balance to keep all the way to lvl 70?

80 if you wnat more melee, 90 if you want to be more of a nuker

I dont believe u get 1 shotted for people of ur level. Theyr prolly higher them u.

Im hybrid spear, i have a bit more int them u, lvl4 spear passive:

- against bladers is almost a pot war, even if i lose it takes like 5-10 minutes to take me down. If he blocks/knockdown/crits a lot im dead. If i stun a lot, i win.
- againts pure int nukers is the first that do 2 skills wins.
- against galviers - hard to win, but they cant 1 shot me

Never dueled a pure str bow. Pure int bows always lose.

Keep pumping into INT. You may find that Armor will become necessary at some point. In PVP most people use Garment, but as a similar build as you I swear by armor. Do your best to hit and run, up close an personal you'll be able to take a bit more punishment than a pure INT, but going TOE to TOE with a pure STR will on most occasions kill you. Use the ranged attacks to your advantage, and nuke quickly. Lionshout is a great quick Nuke. I personally use the first and second book immediately after I shoot a thunderbolt. Try different things and remember failing is part of the learning process. Just because you die in your first several encounters doesn't mean your character is horrible. It just means you have to figure out which tactics work and which ones don't. In my opinion there are no BAD builds only people who don't take enough time to learn their build. As far as I can tell based on your stats, you're doing fine. But I'm no expert.
