I started pwl spear character its 40 lvl and so far I added all to INT. I wanna hear your opinion abot spear characters, I wanna make good character for pvp, dont care about uniques, jobs, fw, pve....
Just pvp

1st one because fire is useless at level 90 and light nukes do more damage then fire nukes.

i r prty sure fire does more damage.. but yah light/cold/heuksal at 90 will do u just fine OR u could do 90 fire 90 light 60 heuksal and 60 cold.
but if ur aiming for pvp light cold heuk is the best cause of teh max snow shield which is a real pain to deal with

also if u wanna pvp u might wanna try an str char, not saying there better but i just find it alot harder to kill strs then ints with my warrior.. ur choice tho..

go s/s, spear sucks in pvp imo

First bold: Earth Fire Protection gives 171 Mag defence power when maxed. It's like wearing 2 sets of wristlets. With Fire-shield buff you will be immune to almost all status effects, as long as your accessories have the blue stat for it. With Flame body Trial and Fire passive combined at LV90, you have an increase of 18% Phys Attack power (this comes in handy if you choose to do a hybrid build). And you have Fire-wall too, though people generally don't take this skill seriously, but when activated you are immune from all status (even KD and KB) except stun. So against a pure STR blader who takes a while to bring your fire-wall down, it's pretty useful.
Lightning? Compare LV90 Lightning to, lets say, LV60 lightning. Difference of 3% Mag. Damage, 18% Speed and a bonus 4metres on phantom...oh and 13 parry ratio points. Personally I'd choose the extra mag defence and stronger nuke+imbue rather than 3% more mag damage.

Second bold: Crane's Thunderbolt: Mag attk power 989~1837 (300%) vs Flame-wave Wide: Mag attk power 1060~1766 (330%)

Back on topic now, in my opinion, I've seen some really strong pure INT spear nukers with prot/armour mix, 80ice 90heuksal 90fire 40light. Pure INT Spear is already so strong, missing out on about 8% mag damage from lightning buff is kinda balanced out, not to mention now you have max mag def from fire, and, if you choose to do even 90ice, max phy def AND snow shield.
If you want to go with hybrid, 90fire 90heuksal 60ice 60light is the typical setup to go with.

im actually making the same build (well, hybrid 7:1 spear). what do you think about 90heuksal, 90fire, 70light, 50cold? i know its bringing the cold down which is less phys defence, but it would make you a bit fast. im also thinking about nukes. if i have 90 fire and 70 or 60 light, im only going to use fire nukes right? are those enough?

Hybrid (5:1) 90 light,cold,hueskal, and 30 fire

The cold and light are a msut, the weapon helps alot especially in hp increase (helps standing more then 1 blow from wiz)
30 fire for a bit extra damage + buffs and fire tower.

Spear=the most damage making of chinese chars so why not use it? GO PURE INT!!
Hybrid is for s/s IMO (i choosed the first option )

Pure int with fire imbue and nukes is freaking strong, seen pure str chars with +5+6 garment set and 20-25% snow shield and still die easy..

Protector is best choice imo or even armor, why? Youre pure int and get 171 magdefense more from fire 90. And cold 86 gives 179 phydefense + max snow shield, from light 34 you will get magdamage 10% increase, speed 41% increase and parry ratio 35 inrease, so enough everything. Magdamage 10% increase with fire nukes is bye bye. Heuksal 90? no need for explanation. That build is awesome.

Some Poseidon hybrid spears started switching this too and seems working, but id prefer pure int. Ive raped many times hybrid builds with snow shield cause they run out of mana, not exactly this build.. its very rare. Most are 8:1 with heuksal 90/light 90/cold 90/fire 30 and wears garment ..guess the problem is too big snow or too small and then you are weak too, they cant take pure str bow super crits .

Anyways damage is godlike either hybrid or pure int.

take snow and either lightning or fire or both

First you freeze the opponent with snow storm ice shot then you nuke him dead

chinese, compared to the euros, looks like they were meant to be hybrids. my vote goes to option #4.

You're right, I think too many people overrate lightning. Really, the only useful thing to come out of lightning is Piercing force. People put too much unnecessary emphasis on phantom and grass walk. I always think it's a bit unwise to sacrifice defence for attack. That's just me. But really, you have very little to gain from taking an extra 10 lvls of lightning, whereas you can be pumping your ice mastery for better defence. Like tedtwilliger said, I know which one I'd pick

Works great, friend is playing current build. You just need to find best snow shield for pvp, good protector set and shouldnt be any problems. Its scary strong with those masteries.

i choose 4th build, bcz with cold u can tank str players with easy and the hp increase is heskual will give u good amount of hp and with some stat point into str (1:7 i prefer)u will have good amount of hp and with snow shiled u tank pretty good and i advise u to wear garment,bcz u will not lvl fire so u will have not fire protection,and garment give u high mag.def. and 20% less mp consumption.hope this help.
