Is it really worth it to get both of the DoT books. i mean theres the first four attacking single targets and then the 2nd four attacking 3 targets.
should we skip the first four and get the final ones?

Why should you get the single Dots?

- single target DOts saves mp, with AoE DoT you'll be using much more mp and waste a lot more pots.

-AoE DoT aggros more mobs by accident, even if you're super skilled at this you cna't help aggro more than 1 mob sometimes, and if you're pure int its best not to take the chance of getting swamped

- Singer Dots have less cooldown time, AoE Dots takes too long to cooldown, so by the time you finish with 1 mob, the Dot is not ready for the next mob, which will slow down your grind.

- combining Dot and AoE spells can get more than 2 Dot on mobs/players, after you single DoT someone, you can cast AoE DoTs on the person next to him allowing more than 2 DoTs on 1 target at a time


All in All, you need both Single DoT and DoT AoE. you don't need to get all the books, i would skip at least blaze because most people can just pill off the status easily.

I am gonna quote from another warlock topic that is old, please dont post in it but the information provided is still viable.

I use all the skill bars to the max, since I am full warlock/full cleric. I have two cleric and two warlock bars and split that floating on between the two classes. I have a pve bar and a pvp bar both similar but very different applications. my aoe dots are on my pve bar since when your grinding time effectiveness does count so much. for pvp you shouldnt be using the aoe dots unless your jobbing, since most pvp at like dw south is only 1vs1 you start throwing aoe dots out and you will find yourself againts 20 chars not one lol

Best single dots: Decayed, cursed breath

for aoe dots get them all

And oh in group pve if you have another warlock freind, you can each add two dots to the same mob. two decayed and two cursed breaths, makes quick work of any party gaint. lol
