Lol, just joking. I know there isn't a "best" build, but I'm interested in learning about a good tanking build.

I currently have a lvl 34 rogue but I screwed him up. Doesn't matter cuz I'm starting a new character anyway. I'm going to 9 lvl gap for at least 20 lvls cuz I don't have anyone to help me with de-lvling.
My rogue isn't very good at jobbing, granted he IS only level 34... but I doubt the problems will change with higher levels.
I picked up a 5* trade I had robbed, and when the thieves spawned I got owned. See, I can dish out really high and fast DPS, but I can't take it fast. If I get the jump on hunters/merchants I will win (if they're around my level). But when they get the jump on me (eg. thieves spawning) I die kinda quickly if I'm not extremely careful (eg. run away ).

What is the best Eruo jobbing build, in your opinion?
Is there a build that tanks so well it's worth giving up the crazy DPS and abilities of the rogue?

I really enjoy using a rogue, it's so awesome, but I hate dying so much. It's very frustrating...

umh, there's no lvl 34 that i know of that can tank a 5* thief spawn... you have to be higher level to be able to tank that many. when i was lvl 50 i got pwned by a 5* star thief spawn... next time only jack 2* - 3* and you'll be fine.
can't help you on the euro's seeing as i dont really play euro side....

Oh I see, I was thinking the thieves spawning depended on your current level.
If you're really good with Chinese, do you know if a pure str swordsman could defeat a warrior/cleric?

If you're referring to a blader, than it's hard to say. It'd be a pot-war nonetheless though. If the blader had better gears/weaps than the warrior/cleric, I'd say the blader would win maybe, but even then that's a huge maybe.

Only a chinese without a pot delay could tank the 5 star, with the possibility of a warrior/cleric. This is referring that they are level 34, at higher levels it becomes a little easier.

At higher levels what is a really good build for jobbing? I'm starting my new character soon, and sp farming, so I might just make another rogue and not screw it up (since I know what I did wrong).

I'm particularly interested in high level thieving...

w.e build has stealth or invisible helps. but solo thieving with a euro is difficult because of pot delay.

I would say a warrior is well suited for jobbing. I will say they pwn in larger scaled pvps and 1v1. A good warrior has an almost constant def buff so he is almost invulnerable unless grouped. Then again its all about variance and situation. Rogues are probably the best thieves as they require the element of surprise, and have tag point. Although as you said suck at tanking the 5 star trades, although never underestimate a rogue as a hunter. Hunter for a rogue is also a good choice.

aft euro update, blader can die to dagger/wiz

so its 1h/cleric
no any 1 single build can take it down 1v1 with its cleric buffs, bonus def, heal, skin, shield trash, sprint

tho 1h cant kill anything

blader wif 90ice/fire/bich is a beast in tanking too

if iwere a warrior fighting that i'd switch to cler/shield and heal myself laughing till they used summit and depth out of anger then turn and DD their azzxD

warrior cleric can tank a 5 star alone but not using 2h, even while using skins and recovery division u will have 10 or more lvl 90-95 regular and champion thieves on you, and will die due to the slow 2h skills, lower def and pot delay. unless u have bless spell on and using grains u will have a chance to survive but bless spell and skins wont be available everytime 5 star thieves spawn. thats why i switch to dual axe as i said in my previous posts. 1h would be better for tanking but it would take a longer time to kill each thief.

If you want a good tank, choose blader. They are BEAST at tanking at the higher levels. It's hard for pretty much anything to kill them. You sacrafice def for att, as the 1h/cleric. EXCEPT no pot delay. +1.

lol invisible/stealth doesnt help a shit most people have invisible hack omg.. (lame)...
and in a party you wont even be able to go invisible because people always kill a mob every 20sec or you must ask them to stop. but then thiefes will spawn and u still wont be able to get invisible.

i could do it with pure int cleric (one spawn only cause of bless)

the best thief build the ROGUEhave u tried playing never winter nights? the greatest thief in that game is a rogue.......
if u could just have party with us in poseidon im the only high level rogue on our guild when we go thiefing the party depends on me for taking the goods. scouting for possible targets... thats my function the rest glaive, blader, wiz cleric i let them do the job........taking goods while invisible while your party is around and fighting even with pk2 can not easily attack you because there attention will be on the other thief..

AND for the best TANKER = BLADER ice & fire definitely.....
how many seconds the def increase of warriors? 60 seconds? 120 seconds? but 2 warrior partying that would be another story......
5* goods hmmmmm tanking solution? frost nova skills..... 2 kinds and dont share cooldown the 5 penetrations and 3 penetrations......and with no pot delay

warrior is a great tanker and deals relatively high damage. they are great as hunters

yeah worriors are good specily with 2h sword as merchant you can kill npc theifs fairly easily then all you need is a freind whose a nuker or better a cleric and your set.

although i think china is better for merchant at the beginig cuz you can jut make trades to bandit camp place right from lvl 20 u can make easy money and buy good shyt and lvl up faster as a result sowted.
