Ok, I'm in a bind. I can't decide which to go with. I've seen decent builds for each and the extra def would help (for the S/S).

Does a spear really hit that much harder than a sword?

Any help is appreciated.

Probably hits like 1k more at max at very high levels but I would rather tank a bit moreso I choose s/s

about 10% difference.

i dun pvp much. so spear works fine for me. many spears will tell you it's just as good for pvp when compared to sword. but i think sword does survive a bit better in pvp, especially for the stand ground and mesh fight skill buttons kind of pvp-ers

I do s/s because I like to tank a bit more, but its what you like. If you want to deal crushing damage, go with spear, but on the other hand if you hate dieing every 30 min, go s/s.

I'm a spear nuker and I like it...S/S is probably better for pvp. Look at it this way though you don't have two buy a weapon AND a shield with a spear

S/S, Spear is soo easy to kill at pvp and fortress.

i can own a spear with my s/s cause i can block but that have that annoying magic defense skills that when i kd and stab

Alright I'm starting to lean more towards S/S now.

Keep the opinions coming.

Spear ~ if you know how to use one you can own the hell outta a S/S with your stuns and nukes

s/s ftw

block attacks and extra def and extra blues, you can't go wrong with those.

Hybrid spear, with like 85% mag balance u hav around 10k hp+ extra from passive and some pretty sick damage.

IMO opinion both builds are good.

If you want to use and easy character that could last longer choose s/s

But Spear can last long too.. Just as long as how a s/s can.. That is if you can master the switching to shields every time you get Knocked Down.. In w/c you wont get so damaged. If you master this trick.. You can absolutely own every kind of Bicheon build. Because spears do more damage than s/s and if the s/s can't take advantage of their KD they're doomed.

This is just my opinion guys. So correct me if I stated some wrong stuff.

your right, but this proves only int s/s would be "better" (I know, I know there is no best build),
your right a spear nuker can hit more but how much would it hit more....depending on weaps/eq I would say around 1/2k more damage max.
Why do you say take spear if you need to switch to shield constantly to survive..
Just take a nice sword with that shield.

Also a good reason to choose bicheon over heuksel = bicheon has castle shield means 15 sec very high physical def while heuksel have 15 sec magical defense wich is not really needed as a int char.

Also I want to add that your right about when you can handle your char (int spear this case) it can be very strong..but wich build dont, just know how to play your char.
