so i was looking at the shield skill, and it increases ur attack power by taking away from the br of ur shield right? so wouldnt using the mountain/giant shield skills increase ur damage and also keep the br of ur shield at what it normally is?

It only take away the defence of the shield, not the br.

it only takes away Physical Defense, this is what exactly is said in game;

and i have my own blader to prove that, your BR isn't affected. it's how you're hit by phy. atk wise,you get hit more if it's physical dmg. If that move was for BR, then what's the point of having a shield? let a lone be a blader? O_o

The better your shield is and the higher the physical defense stat is, the higher you'll hit when using it.
