Farming Idea

Post by Mcclane »

Im going to start a Glavie (glavie/fire/light) and i was thinking instead of farming just build up a 5 gap then close it then build up a 5 gap then close it so it looks like this:
Spoiler!

Is this a good idea or just a total waist of time, and has anyone tried it?

Sounds interesting. If it gives you enough SP then go for it. However, be concerned about quest rewards. Most of them don't give enough SXP to compensate the XP gained as reward. If you have less SP then needed (look at the calculator), then don't close it after 5gap, keep it till 6 or 7.

p.s.: it's a really interesting idea and sounds fun, unlike farming as full STR which is a pain in the...
I wanna be on the top of it
I wanna live for the fun of it
I wanna speak for just a little bit

I can't see an advantage in SP gain here. Should theoretically be similiar as if constantly 3 gapping from 1 to 90. Same goes for XP.

Imo your idea does make sense for people that would get bored or get impatient when using a constant gap all the way. Each time falling back from 5 gap (level-up time doubled) to 0 gap (fastest level-up) may produce a great remotivation boost.. :D

Never tried this myself, though.

Not exactly. According to nivlam:
your idea: 418039 SP
3 gap : 414150 SP

Don't be concerned about the quests. I made the calculation that when you 0 gap and you're doing quests, you still will have 200k sp from 0-90. (Didn't calculate the sxp from quests in it, so i think it won't be a real problem.

Oh and I don't think that you will have enough xp with 418k. My bow must have 675k sp, and bow uses less xp than glavie.

EDIT: My calculation for your character is 682k sp (without 0 gapping).

i thoguht about this but i preferred going 4 gap until every 10 lvl increment when i would go back down to 0 gap. this for euro however since their new skills tend to come every 10 lvls. so 1 gap 2 gap 3 gap 4 gap and 4 gap until the next 10 lvl increment like 10 20 30 where you would 0 gap again and rebuild the gap. you get about 440k sp this way which is pretty decent for any euro build

yes. i level up in this manner. build a gap till next tier weapon > 0gap > rebuild gap till next level. not so boring. but like many have said before, you may just be postponing the pain of sp farming to higher levels. but at least you don't get bored and quit sro while farming big time.
