Starting a new character tomorrow, could use some pointers

When the new server opens tomorrow I'll delete one of my old characters and start from scratch, knowing a bit more about the game and how I want to play. I want to create a quick character that relies on magic and a bow. This is what I've been thinking:
1) Female character (I know it doesn't matter, but still...)
2) Start with sword/shield and do some SP farming until I have quite a few hundred SP. I tried this yesterday, and it worked fine.
3) Switch to bow and up my skills when I can't stand the farming any more.
4) Bow / Cold / Lightning skills - cold to slow monsters down and lightning to add damage and for quick movement.
But should I make this a pure INT or an INT 2:1 build? I'm thinking that as a pure INT I will be too weak especially at higher levels. I know it'll cost me $$$ in potions, but I'll live with that. What do you think? After all I am still a n00b.
And should I use Armor, Protector or Garment? I still haven't figured out that part of the game yet...but I'm guessing Garment would be a good bet, since I will eventually be using a LOT of skill points for all my magic, and I will be moving fast. Or...?
I would apprectiate any and all help from more experienced players.

It seems okay.
Though I'm in NO DAMN mood to start over.
Yeh Garment is lovely. Though I've only got lvl 5 grass toes and I'm still TOO SLOW. I don't think bows are too good with new characters without gold. You can't get arrows and pots you know. Unless you're rich. Store everything in storage before you start doing deletes and deleting your gold.

That's why I said I would start with sword + shield (just kill a bunch of lvl 1 monsters and buy a shield the first thing I do) and switch to bow later.
EDIT: And my highest lvl character now is 13, I just found out about Silkroad a few days ago, and I had no ideas about how to play when i started, so I wasted a LOT of skill points on useless skills and things like that. So burying that character is no problem for me at all.

Yeah but, if you're staying in the same server. STORE YOUR GOLD.
IF you have any that is.
EDIT: Storage is universal among all your characters.

Cool, then perhaps I shouldn't switch servers then. Babel is usually pretty easy to get into anyways...

Well, I have a character in Aege
and one in Xian too - but I haven't been able to log onto those servers in days.

As soon as the game reopens I'll log onto one of them and delete my character so I can make a new one. But I guess I'll stay at Babel then, would be nice to start with a few thousand gold.
Yesterday I did it the hard way - kill two Old Weasels, then rest until healed. Repeat. When I leveled up the same thing was repeated, but with Water Ghost/Water Ghost Slave instead. And so on. It takes a LONG time, but you save lots on potions.

But on to the big question: should I go for a pure INT build or an INT 2:1?

Lol....I've never used pots until I was doing the tiger quest for the second time.
That time I've already grinded 90k

thats what i did for my archer but i started with glavie since i had some high crit glavies and spears and at lvl 8 i switched to bow and got first spec and cold imbune and trained from then on i was 2:1 int all the way and i own giants like hell (out of the like 15 ive seen i got loot for atleast 7 of them) just make sure u use armor or protector cus most monsters in china use melee and i would train on decayed yeohas cus they wont even touch you.

I'm switching to the new server Athens as soon as it opens. You should switch over too knowing that there will be no difficulty getting in and plus, a few thousand gold isn't too much. I have like 1 million gold on my Xian account, but I don't care.

Umm dont know if you already know this but when you delete a character it takes 7 full days for it to be completely deleted. Until that time frame you cant permanently delete it... but you can restore it before the 7th day...

Ok, so give me your suggestions please, on what skills to pick.
I will do a fair bit of SP farming, but I'll keep the difference at about 5 or 6 levels, not 9 (I'm not patient enough). I think I'll still get a nice enough amount of SP.
But what skills should I concentrate on at the higher levels? I want cold for freezing enemies/causing damages and lightning for speed, but since I'm new to the game I could really use some pointers on what skills I should concentrate on.
Since I will play a Bow character, I will of course pick as many Bow skills as possible, but what Force skills should I pick?

well, you basically said it yourself... get your bow skills, then grab the freezing skills from cold, and the quickness from lightning, and there you go ^_^

How many charactors can you have? I am starting a new one tonight in Athens and I have 2 on Troy. Do I need to delete one of the ones on Troy first?

Lvl 8 now, just hit 100 SP.
EDIT: And just two more levels before I can get some cool magic (I keep a 5 lvl difference to get more SP).
