I drew up this table about sp farming.

Image

Basically as your gap increases, you gain less and less % of sp and loss more and more % of exp. So the worst way to sp farm is to no gap follow by a big gap. The best way is to keep a constant 2-3 level gap all the way.

Even if you do not want to sp farm, you should keep AT LEAST a 1 level gap, since that is the only time that your return of sp exactly equals your lost of exp.

i would prefer a steady 4 gap, but it depends on your build and what skills you would be needing.

Either 0 or 9.
Anything in between isn't good in my opinion.

My plan.

9 gap at lvl 26 to get some minor SP.
0 gap until lvl 43 with as many skills up to date as possible, which will depend on the farming at 26.
Level 1 mastery until I'm 52 and delevel it back to 43.
9 gap on shades, penons or sonars. (Whichever gives me the fast SP/hour)

2 options.
1) I gained enough SP for the lvl90 cap.
> 0gap all the way
2) I didn't gain enough SP for the lvl90 cap.
>9 gap in nachals at 72 in garms until I have enough SP's.

For a euro its different though. Without a good party, trying to farm with a 9 gap can be difficult ( having armor 9 levels below you does suck ). Though luckily most euro builds with no sub can 2-3 gap until your skills are 81, than just farm with a 9 gap at cap. Personally for a euro i think thats the way to go. Or you could buy a skill ticket like myself and keep a very small gap the whole way ( can take a 1 gap just for 1H and 2H though taking a 2 gap for cleric as well )

Though for a chinese the majority of the time you will solo anyway + your equips will always be that of your level. So i think its more efficient to take advantage of a high spawn area and farm as much as you can there. penons, nachals, yachas/pegs are good examples of when to farm.

But in the end its really up to your playing style.

I agree with takolin, 0, 9, or bust.
