spear does more int damage, but sword and shield blocks and reduces damage you take. so imo its a judgment call---which do you wanna do

sword, ur not using them for the skills in either of them. A sword can block like mad :]
oh oh also, a sword and shield can be both shiny, so 2 shiny items are way cooler then 1 shiny item

a bit off topic: PAYING for 2 shiny items is more money than only paying for one

sword/shield is a lil bit better for 1v1.
