Force question.

Post by Blindfire »

I am making a hybrid str glaive. I will be around 90:40 or 5:1. What I am asking is, will the 40% be good enough for the vital spot that lowers mag defense? My goal is to make my imbue hit much harder than a pure str and still have good phys attacks.

i dont have an answer to ur question but dont make hybrids. after the new caps come out they are doomed. go pure int or str

Then why post here?

Prove it.

revo333 wrote:go pure int or str

The point of this build is to be totally unique, if I wanted to be the same as everyone else then I would be pure.

Hear me out cuz i have this build but bow instead of glaive but all this pertains to str hybrid force...

I'll warn u about this build right now, you're gonna do about the same dmg as a pure str to monsters but in pvp you'll see about a 1k-1.5 dmg difference.

reason is cuz you have force and are forced to either drop fire or light. That means either your flame body or your piercing force is lower than someone that doesnt have force.

lets say you drop light.
there goes 17% mag damage from piercing force. And a bunch of parry gone.

lets say you dropped fire.
there goes 9% from flame body trial anmd 8% from the passive = -17% phy dmg.
and a bunch of mag defense.

I have this build and this is what i did...
i got 73 light for 16% mag dmg increase.
and 32 fire for 5% flame body and 3% passive = 8% phys dmg increase.

so im losing 10% phys dmg, im also losing 7 lvls of lightning and i have only lvl 73 light imbue, considerably weaker than fire.

reason its 73 is cuz i have the 32 fire and 35 ice for snow shield.

so in summary.
80 Pacheon
80 Force
73 Light (lvl 5 imbue, 69% grasswalk, lvl 1 blue phantom, 16% mag increase)
32 Fire (8% phys increase)
35 Ice. (25% snow shield a must for hybrid force = 12 to 13k mp)

f*cked up build aint it?
good pvp build though.
I dno about glaive though, I've only seen good str hybrid bows.

IT IS TRUE
GET IT THROUGH YOUR HEADS. DO NOT MAKE HYBRIDS. THEY'RE ONLY FOR HP.
At higher caps, such as 150, you'll only have two masteries. So, let's say your INT:
150 Lightning
150 Force
No Strength needed.

STR:
150 Weapon Mastery
150 Fire
No Intelligence needed.

um... i fail to see how hybrids would be bad...

str would be weapon+force... where in that says no imbue?
int would be 2 forces? where in that means you dont need extra hp if you can already 1-2 people with nukes

Does Pure Int Chinese even have a point if the cap goes up to 150 and no mastery increase? From my limited understanding Wizards and Warlocks dominate. Pure Int's I'm pretty sure Bard's and Cleric can as well.

I'm not sure a Chinese full str can compete at 150 cap if it's that way either. Glaver's already have issues with European warrior's using multiple masteries with just fire you'd be pretty much dead in the water. Even if the 100 -150 skills own for chinese from 30 - 100 you'll lose in pvp left and right with just 2 masteries.

Quite f*cked up. Thanks for the help, what I am hoping for is their attacks will be lowered by the vitals so the 17% their buffs add will be nagated by my debuffs. I am also taking light to 30 for a small buf increase.

@Chess: This build was meant to be fun, I really don't care if I am a dominant force at pvp and when I come to DW south everyone runs to the safezone to take off their capes. This build is an experiment, it may fail or it may be the new hybrid that everyone makes, who knows.

the only hybrids that i would imagine being in the end-game would be str hybrid bows.

you don't need all the hp when you can spam 3 books of arrow combos that all have almost 100% knockback.

and since that will be your main thing in wars or w/e, you'll want more dmg so you'll turn slightly hybrid.

light would also be more ideal for bow, they dont have a shield or HP passive so they need all the parry they can get. Their range gets even more deadly with ghost walk phantom closing the gap between them and the opponent. typhoon+phantom > typhoon (obviously). The increase attack rating and increased parry helps, and devil arrow will get darkness status to cause a drop in the opponents attack rating.

fire barely benefits bow in the long run, you don't have the HP or defense to take every single of your opponents hits towards the top of their dmg range.

1st, the masteries only go to 140
2nd, why the hell do ppl keep saying ints need to take force?
3rd, why would hybrids be bad at later caps?

How many times...
1st proof? I thought they went to 150 O_O
2nd:
Force is needed for later caps. If you take cold/lightning, that's just stupid. If you take lightning/heuskal or bicheon, you won't be able to tank without snowshield. So, Force allows you to stun, debuff, nuke once or twice, dead.
3rd hybrid is stupid, period. At later caps, you'll probably only have enough masteries for your INT or STR based character, and getting it for extra HP is stupid also. YOU DONT NEED IT, STAY PURE...

has any1 tried this force build at the 120+ cap? those caps havent come out yet so how can you say that build will be the ultimate int build? it looks good from the stats but has any1 ever done it? how can you say what build will be best when no1 has played it. AFAIk the highest cap right now is 100, am i right? so how can we say what builds will be best at the 110+ caps? "Force allows you to stun, debuff, nuke once or twice, dead." im pretty sure that it isnt 100% guarentee u can get those status effects, so your assuming everytime you do it it will work.

i think this is an interesting build and you should go for it. fudge is pretty good at this stuff and his build seems pretty good. however the one thing i dont like is the fact that you're hoping your statuses will make up for the 17% loss. because if your so worried about that 17% even if you do get that 17% with force debuffs its a bit pointless no? however i find the use of vital spots cool so gl with your build

Well I'm hoping that the vitals will make up for the lack of buffs. I really don't care if it is weaker or stronger, I just want a build no one else ahs made.
