Warlock, with Warrior Sub

Idea behind this (thank rosseau cleric vid, kudos to you if you can find me the link to it :P), is that clerics have warrior sub for the armour mainly. But i just have it for shield trash, as i was only going to be pure warlock, im Not getting cleric/wiz sub.

Imo it will help because i can do my DOT skills on monsters, then shield trash. so they die before they reach me.

Worth it? or shall i stay pure warlock.

And i repeat, this is not a thread for discussion on trying to make me get cleric or wiz sub. I am only going Pure warlock or Warlock with warrior shield trash.

Pure Warlock, although good, isn't as good as a warlock with a sub. Taking Warrior for the shield trash is definitely a good idea to stay alive. I haven't used shield trash much in PvE unless I was getting mobbed by two or more monsters or a party monster. Warlocks can generally look after themselves. If you took Cleric you could get the healing skills and Holy Word in addition to Shield Trash. But if you are concerned about SP then just follow through with your plan.

Warlock with shield trash will be better, but not much, the difference will not be that extreme.

Raising up a whole mastery tree just for one skill just doesn't seem worth it to me, since Warlock itself requires a lot of sp itself. =/

Shield trash only needs level 10 warrior and level 2 One Hand Lord passive. Not that much SP required for a useful skill IMO. Still, it seems like a waste to not get a sub even though the topic creator said he didn't want one =/

i know it may be a waste, but i personally hate farming.

why you ask?

in the time ive played silkroad (a few years on various chars), i must have farmed almost 3mil sp in that time...

And this char i wont pvp much, only use it in gw/fw. which in that case, we have 2 80 clerics in our guild. and various other chars with 60+ cleric sub. So i don't need to cleric myself.

Quick question. can you use Warrior Skins on yourself and then switch to warlock rod? Will the skins stay? Anyone know? Because if they do, then Warlock/Warrior is a very effective build.

No.

They require a warrior wep.

if it was possible, everyone would be wiz warrior, instead of wiz cleric. etc.

I kind of disagree with that. Stunning has a bigger effect on pvp than you might think. Even if the whole party has holy spell, rendering debuffs and Sleep useless, a warlock can cast Scream Mask on two people and those two people's chances of surviving are increased tenfold. Plus, Holy Spell does not protect from Wheel Bind, which cancels out cleric healing. It can still be removed with Integrity, I think. Not sure. So, yes you are right, their main role is giving out stun buffs and stunning everyone in sight with both stun skills, but they are definitely not useless.

Here is a little story. Once my friend and I were pvping and this nuker jerk that was at least a degree higher came over and killed us repeatedly. I tried casting cleric buffs on my friend, who was a chinese blader, and healing him, but even with those buffs he still died quickly. The answer? Scream Mask. I gave him the cleric defense buffs and scream mask and suddenly we were owning like no tomorrow, with help from a few debuffs. All he had to do was use chains and the 35% chance of stun really added up with the fast consecutive hits of blader skills. The nuker ran away crying, calling Scream Mask "gay" and never bothered us again.

Their most useful buff? Advanced Reflect. Especially with nukers on the opposition, this will give your party a huge advantage because the other team will pretty much help kill themselves. Not to mention the fact that Warlock nukes, although comparatively weak compared to Wizards, still pack a punch.
