can u pls tell me what is the best for bow, pure str or 80:80/70:70 hybrid and why?? i'm planning to create a bow char and i dont want to waste grnding for the wrong build..

Pure str= higher crit and more hp, so I would say pure str.

Just go for a pure str untill lvl 30. If you don't like it then, you can add int from them on and you'll end up with a 70:70 bower, at least at lvl 90. (80:80 is with almost full blue). Hybrid str bow is also good, so you can hardly go wrong when you're pure str untill lvl 30.

Whatever build you choose, every build you pick relies on crits. It just changes the average damage and damage of crits.

Pure; Lowest damage, highest crits
Hybrid; Average damage, average crit
80/80; Highest damage, lowest crits

Needless to say you will sacrifice HP for overal damage. Pick whatever suits you!

Pure STR, if you got 80:80, you'll miss the heaxtra HP, however 80:80 is a lot more fun.

how could u say that 80:80 has a low crit while it has the highest dmg,

pure str will have much higher damage when it crits as opposed to when it does not crit, but 80:80 bow will have higher crit damage output, it just won't be as drastic a difference as the pure str because its normal attacks already do more damage.

Don't waste tons of HP just for the 500dmg increase in non-crit shots

70:70 does around 33% more damage

ok first of all,pure str bowman has the highest crits....but why....he does like 3-4k dmg normal dmg....and suddenly crits like 12k.....reason for that is high hit points because of full str....
the thing with 70:70(80:80 under full blue equips) is that they will have much more average dmg then pure str...and that they will crit very good(not as pure str but pretty good)

the thing about 80:80 build is that they will have average dmg higher all the time and when crits come it will be like high enough it is like instead of 3-4k by pure str....they will make average dmg about 5-6k at least....and when the pure str crits from 3-4k it will be 12k and this one will crit up to 10k or something....so it is a pretty nice build for bow....because bow is ment to be a hybrid weapon......imagine why there is only 1 bow.....u have blades and glavies for pure strenghts....and sword and spear for int chars....why then there hasnt been 2 bows???

wacth the dmgs on bow go to the npc at hotan (blacksmith) and watch dmg difference between weapons...and compare each one to the bow.....

80:80 is the best build for bow....because u will have higher dmg constantly....and u will crit excelent.....

well, im agreeing on your points that bow is a good hybrid weapon

but your pure str facts ain't right lol. 3-4K hitting and suddenly 12K crits? Hell no
Pure str criticals are around 100% higher (if they do 1000 damage, critical damage will lay around 2000)

How do you know its "33%" more damage?

being hybrid has been totally raped by the europe update.

becease I am a 70:70 bower lol, and compared with full str bowers

no, I don't die in 2 hits, in Fact imo I have a better chance against (for example) roques. Im able to tank 1 critical prick, and I've got ice maxed out, So i'm able to use a ice wall too

doctor mos.....don look at my exact word...i gave justr an example of dmg...

when glaviers makes 5k dmg he will make 100% crit=10k dmg(depends of phys balance maybe few percents more but,,,) as for the full str bowman....he has few skills that increased crits + passive that increased atack ratio(also crucial in making crits)....so bow does larger crit then glavier.

I'm 70:70 and I love it, but you will probably be happier going pure Str.
Being a good hybrid is very expensive in gear and SP compared to Str.

you're saying it in a way that looks like ur saying that the damage increase is very low lol

what is everyone's opinion on 70:70/80:80 bowman's damage on

1) PvP
2) PvE
3) Uniques

PvP - I might be wrong, but I think the best skills are the arrow combos here, since it gives good average damage + lots of hits in a few time. Still, pretty bad to tank up compared with full str. If you fight more full str, try using armor. If you fight more wizards/nukers, try using garments, but dont dream - this build doesnt "rocks" in PvP.

PvE - I consider myself that, in overall aspects, the build 70:70 Bow + Cold imbue is the BEST build for pure PvE. Nice average damage, good tanking, can use 1 degree lesser pots than pures so you save more money in the long run For example, as pure STR and pure Int have very high HP/MP, they normally need to use higher degree pots kinda soon in-game. 70:70 dont, Im lv17 (farming) and using herbs still.


Uniques - The shine of this build. This is the BEST build for hunting uniques. Why? Let's give a look. Pure Str fighting Uniques have the HP advantage to tank them, but their damage is kinda low, so they need more time to kill them (time that they do not have). Pure Int have greater damage than you, but they often (and I mean indeed often) they die on the spawn mobs due to the few hp + lag. Risky. However, 70:70 bow have GREATER range than Ints, can still tank for a while as Strs, and have great and fast average damage (not slow like nukes). So ya, they own uniques pretty much.

i have a hybrid 70:70 lvl 78 and this build sucks like hell. i dont recommend it too anyone. The only funpart about this build is the fact i can use s/s when im bored. I die fast and my damage is not hard enough. Its just a funbuild. u wont own with it.

maybe its you and not the build. Im 70:70 too and I'm very decent

You guys say that 80:80 can tank less, but you seem to be forgetting that 80:80 have higher int and therefore can snow shield. Therefore they are a great build and as cap increases they have the possibility to improve as your balance improve.

WHy ? cause of high dmage in crt !
If you;re physical balance is higher u crit Harder !
Plus think , that if u don;t have allways friends to grind whit ..u will encounter PARTY MOBS ...u can easily die!

believe me mate. its not me. All of u can keep up that 70:70 pwns but its all B*llshit. I play with this build for months now. I play sro for 2 years so i know what im saying.

I have a +5 prot gear at my hybrid and quite some blues so i cant complain. I dont know what lvl u are but my build sucks. Its all ur own choice. But i preffer Full str i think. Even though i never played that before

im not gonna use the word suck. its mean too much.
but i agree 70:70 bow/fire/light is not too good for "pvp" but very decent to support and unique hunting.i have one too at level 78.what i do with it? i delevel bow and take bicheon(nice 80:86 balance) but the damage i only better than blader and hit lower when meet other int. pot fight with blader and till my finger numb spamming kd,stab,chain(ZzzZzzzz).now im with spear and can compete with glaivier

So bow better go pure str or hybrid str.

You're all forgetting the fact during your 2min snowshield you are tanking way better then a full str bow would. plus you are doing 33% more damage

I can't find a point why it isn't good, and when im playing my char im not worse too. (I pvped a lot of people same level same equips)

Im not saying that a full str build is worse, only saying that a 70:70 isn't worser then a full str build.

they both r really strong builds...go hybrid tho..

i am still farming, currently almost half way through the eventual 450k sp-target, and i'm facing this dilemma.

Well, you should atleast use snow shield, and maybe use phantom walk (that depends on pvp style tho).

don't use 2 anti devils, that just plain sucks with 70:70, your build is not about making crits, but about making dps. Bezeker arrow is far better then a older book of anti devil (bezeker arrow is almost as good as strongbow, it only got a longer cast time)
