i keep reading that pve requires xbow and pvp daggers but could daggers do their job in pve and xbow in pvp?

Well, sure, but not as good. First pve: xbow does a lot better in pve.

I think that both can do very well in pvp. The reason why people say daggers are better in pvp is because they do more damage and the cleric sub (if you want to choose that one) has much more use with the daggers. On the other hand you'll loose the range. I'm only lvl 38 yet, but I think this is a good answer to your question.

xbow does less dmg than daggers, and since rogues are known to die in 1-2 hits with their powerups on, daggers are preferable in pvp since they get the job done quicker.

i prefer xbow in group pvp though.

i dont have a high lvl rogue but thats just what i think.

another reason why dagger isn't as efficient in pve is, though they kill things one hit, you will be right at the front lines, so if you get mobbed you will die relatively quickly. where as xbows can keep their distance and kill them without risk of being attacked. as a result at higher lvls they can grind on mobs several levels higher than themselves

A roque makes use of his power up what gives less hp or defense.

pve = x-bow; ranged, good damage, fast kill and the mobs wont get in touch with you on half hp.

pvp = daggers; its hit and run whit a roque. Invisseble with daggers give some extra moving speed when in steald (still slow :/), huge crits, bleed and poisen, fast attack.

so when using daggers pve you don't stealth and your close to your enemy's (mobs) whith the lose of 75% def I don't want to stay close to a mob my own lvl.
