Explain the viability in dual classing a Euro character...

Post by Xenow »

I just recently started playing iSRO and I created a European.

I'm wondering though how having 2 classes works for a European?

I've went warrior/cleric so far and have made it to level 13 (I have 12 mastery in warrior and 9 in cleric. I also blew some masteries on wizard to try out a nuke).

However, I can't keep up my cleric buffs (or my warrior buffs) if I swap to the opposing weapon type, just like I can't cast a heal if I have my dual axes out.

Are they just so you have solo viability (as a warrior who can heal himself between killing monsters) and play as a cleric in a party?

Sometimes it allows me to swap weapons while in the middle of combat, and other times it says that it's not allowed.

I also started a Chinese character and I see how well the magic type skills synchronize with the physical weapon types (you add your magic element to the weapon and then use your weapon specials for much more damage).

Thanks!

Edit: Also how can you unlearn masteries?

There are few buffs that stay after switching weapons ...
Like Recovery Divison ,Healing Cycle and Bless (for cleric)

To elaborate a little further, I'll only be playing this character with my girlfriend so soloing isn't ever going to be needed.

She is full warrior (and level 13 also).

Is my idea of going warrior (for armor protection) / cleric (for healing) valid or should clerics stick to robes?

As it is right now she can kill 2 party monsters (and like 4 or 5 regular monsters all level 8 to 12) in the Forest of Sorrow camp at once with me spam healing her and chugging mana potions (the 2h sword she uses hits a couple at once).

Sometimes the monsters begin to beat on me, so it's nice to be able to absorb the damage.

Initially I was going to be a warrior also, but 2 warriors seemed redundant for constant grouping and it seems better if I can heal.

Thanks!

to unlearn skills you need to do the cursed heart quest (will be available at level 20 at the potion merchant in any town)

i suggest you try 2 totally different builds and grind togheter a combination of 1 char having bard and another char having cleric as a sub would be great.

warlock-cleric and a warrior-bard can be extremely deadly when they work good together :D

but since these are your first chars i suggest you focus as much on 1 mastery only, might be a bit boring but sp farming is even worse.

If you stick with warrior, I'd go 1h s/shield, so you can keep the shield equipped when you get your cleric rod out. (Also because dual-axes deal a little less than s/s)

Yep, whatever she has as a sub, you want something opposite that complements it, so if she's bard, go cleric sub. You can buff her - the bless, body blessing and soul blessing stay on when you switch, the str/int buffs don't. Or just play as a cleric while she fights and spam heals and recovery division. 16 seconds of auto-heal for a warrior isn't bad, and your str/int buffs would stay, helping her do more damage, have more HP and a bigger MP pool for special attacks.

Just for grins, you can try for the cleric passive phys. def increase too. If you're warrior/cleric, you should be in light armor anyway.

Curst hearts do only give you back 60% of your skill points, so delevel your masteries now rather than later if you're going to.
If faith is a crutch, I'm not limping anymore.
