Bow Build - Only Way To Go

Unless you just wanna be different of course.

Strength bow. ( assuming level cap is going to be 90 forever )

90 Pascheon
84-90(Imbue fire or ice)
60-65 Lightning
61 Fire
60 Ice

( IE: You decide to go fire imbue and stop lightning at 60 - 90 Bow 90 Fire 60 ice 60 lightning mastery )

My build personally is leaning towards
90 Bow
84 Ice ( Ice imbue because bow has no immobilzation skill )
65 Lightning ( Maxed Ghost Walk Phantom *must in wars )
61 Fire ( Magic buff big increase at this level )

It's the second fight if you read.

There are many reasons pure strength bow > int / hybrid int bow.

1) Bow has no defensive skills. Making death that much closer
2) Spear and Sword have more defense and magic damage than bow
3) Leveling is slower as int/hybrid bow than int/hybrid spear/sword
4) PvP / Wars / Jobs also better as int/hybrid spear/sword

If you REALLY just like bow. Dont do jobs/pvp/ or wars. ( which is 25% of the game imo ) And you like to kill fast etc. Int bow may be for you just not suggest because of above. Int bow will kill 1vs1 monsters much quicker but will die if mobbed. AoE is bad for int bow because it doesn't have hp passive or shield. But .. if you insist be my guest.

Pascheon:
Max everyskill except
(strong bow)
(autumn wind)

Anti Devil / 4 Arrow combo * Must
Berserk arrow * Level quicker ( I have soon to test pros cons of 3rd book )

Ice:
At least get frost nova
Defense buff
Passive

Fire:
Defense buff
Damage buff
Passive

Lightning:
Grasswalk series ( Ghost walk phantom required at higher lvls for fights. Unless you dont fight good for uniques as well )
Concentration / Passive * If sp allows

To pick your imbue.
Lightning = Negative
1) Unwanted agro
2) Weak AoE damage
3) Weaker than fire imbue
4) No immobilzation

Fire = Positive
1) Max damage
2) Burn

Ice = Positive
1) Immobilization ( frozen status )
2) Frostbite

Yeah. I personally think he should switch to spear and add strength until hes 85% ish magical. and do a lot of things but...........

Unfortunately I lost all respect for him after his guild turned into one of the biggest botter guilds on Babel woot.

So yeah I don't care to help him much. If he's ever in a guild that I war with ( Once my guild catches up to the botters woot... ) He'll be easy points.

Why not use Strong Bow? Is it because the "charge up" takes so long?

The charge up takes forever...... once I used antidevil+berserker+imbue and took out a mob my level before someone else's strong bow even finished charging. Lol.

Also, just from reading the stats, 3rd book berserker does more damage than 2nd book strong bow. I do think strong bow has potential if Joymax develops 3rd book though.

I disagree on the strong bow, for PvE. It does alot more damage (350%) than berserker arrow, and anti devil (250%). I use anti devil or strong bow to start my attacks on mobs, or on an unsuspecting trader or hunter.

With my bow skills at 55 my strong bow regular hit does almost as much damage as a crit with anti devil.

The last book of berserker is a long ways off for me so I can't compare that, but I've been very disappointed with the second book as it does less damage than anti devil.

Remember to get to higher levels you will need to do alot of PvE, more than you will PvP.

oh come on bezerker arrow book three is like lvl 69. second book strong bow is like 54. thats liek comparing wolf bite spear and soulspear soul

Omg Every1 tells me no bows but staffs(wich are not in sro or ar substituted by spears)and bows are my fav ewep in any game and bow being #1 every1 says no bow y the hell did joymax make such a temptation for me make me waste my time lvling a bow and then i cant do nothin =( how sad

i really really do like bows...and that video looked like some hard hits wud that bow have a chance against spear or glaive?

Misaklo, I am referring to book 2 (the highest level I can have at 54 bow skill) of berserker arrow and the 3rd book of strong (the highest I can have at level 55) and the third book of anti devil (highest I can have at bow level 55).

It IS apples to apples. Strong bow does ALOT more damage. I will demonstrate this to you when I get home from work.

I do not dispute the time it takes to release which I why I use it for an opening shot on non aggroed players or NPCs.

I do not disagree with the comparison and that before berserker book 3, strong bow does do the most damage of all bow skills. However, I don't use it as my opening attack simply because I can remove over half of a mob's life with anti-devil and another hit before a strong bow finishes charging. By doing this, it prevents other archers from ksing me.

i use SB on champs and giants and usually do the MOST dmg. so loot comes to me
