I'm gonna try out a Archer to see how I like it. I been looking through guides and other topics and some people say hybird is better like the 70:70 build and some say pure str is. I wanna know which is better for pvp. Also I'm gonna use Lightning as my main imbue is that ok for a bower?

Ive tried out pure str and hybrid bow. Alot of people say this owns that and that owns this and this cant kill that , that cant kill this.
But it really comes up to what you do with your skill points and how you level your masterys. It wont really matter between a hybrid\full str\int or whatever, Its whatever build works best for each weapon.

I don't hear to much about hybrid bow nowadays. Go pure str.

Honestly it depends. If you plan on playing for 90 cap, I say go Pure Str Bow. But if you are doing 80 cap only. Go 80:80 Bow. My friend has a lvl 75 build and I have seen him kill lvl 80s like candy. Its crazy.

Ok I guess I'll go with pure str for now but I'd like to use lightning as my main imbue would that be fine for a pure str bow?

So if i want lightning imbue i should do the 70:70 build or w/e? After watching some pvp videos hybird bowers are pretty good So I might go with them anyways. Please give me some suggestions experienced bowers. ^_^

fire has more str based buffs, while lighting has more int based buffs. That is why lighting is more for hybrids. Although damage wise I Dont think that it matters much.

Go for lightning for the status effect, it makes the target move slower. Which is good to keep a range between your enemy.

Arent you confusing ice with lighting? Lighting gives you a parry ratio buff, wich allows you to do more damage on the mob since its defense are lower.

everyone seems to be saying pure str bow and 70:70 bow but what about the hybrid str? like 80% phys. attack balance or something? can i get some advice because i wanna know as well if i should start putting them all into str from here on or drop down to 70:70 or just stay the course

The hybrid str bow with 80% or 85% phy balance seems to be working fine. Cant give you really more info about it

.
*Edit; the 80% bow does on a average more damage then the pure str, but less then the 70-70. He crits harder then the 70-70 but not harder then the str. Biggest advantage IMO to pure str, is that he can pull of a snowshield without running out of MP soon.

I saw LS doing almost equal (maybe more, maybe less) criticals as pure str....
15k and I think even 1 time 16k on full farmed str glavie

I made pure str bow to lvl 53..and im switching to blade, i had +3 gear pimped and +5 bow protector set and i was having a hard time against str glaives and hyb ints
Seriously str bow isnt a 1v1 build support only, damage is mid-low range, the only wa you can win against a glaive or blade is crit with strong bow and ant devil followed by a good demon arrow...doesnt happen much
If i was you, id go hyb 80:80 or maybe 90:50?

Hi...
if u really want to make hybrid bow i really suggest aim for STR hybrid bow more 1:1 ratio.
i have 70:70 bow level 77,damage is good, damage per second is good but having hard time pvp although winning or loosing is quite tight...
int spear nuker is quite dangerous since i can take out 3/4 of ur life in 1 nuke(spear nuker is dangerous to all especially str base char, 70s bow is not bad,but u do not have enuff HP to tank nuke, thats the prob)
now i am looking for workaround for that:p maybe using garment??? but i already have prob with glaive
PS: how about aiming for 90% phy and 70% mag with blues STR hybrid^^..this could be decent

u didnt have ur knockbacks or stun skills at 70+ yet, also what are u trying to do? bladers are slowest lvlers and they have a hard time killing ppl usually, are u planning on not dieing or what? u should mabe rethink ur discition abit

LS was a sun bower before he got hacked I believe. LS did indeed huge damage, but as you can see on the damage contest he is by far still outdamaged by str bowers if they crit. Otherwise his damage was higher.

yeah it's pretty weard...he gets outdamaged at the damage contest
But I have NEVER saw a pure str bow do even more then 16k Crit damage(that would REALLY be overkill) on full str
Maybe it has to do his mag attack is way higher or something? I dnno..
