Warlock/Wizard

I already made a Warlock/Wizard which is level 19 right now. Warlock is my main class, sub class is wizard. It has a 4 gap and I have started sp farming. Now i am just wondering what the necessary skills are for the wizard and the warlock (mainly wondering about the wizard skills, but if you let me know about the warlock skills, that would be nice so i could make sure).
Thank You!

i'm lvl 27 wiz/warlock
max out warlock skills (Except physical raze...dunno if theres any realy use to it since u'll b doing magic damage all the time)
wiz skills fire and ice nukes are a must, if wiz is a sub and ur not really gonna use it other than devilering the finishing blow then don't go for life control and everything in that row. not too sure about earth skills cause their nukes are lower range and less damage and for lightning teleport is a must for jobbing and such.
hope this help. this is everything i've heard about warlock/wiz build. i was gonna go wiz main but i'm switching to warlock main. use wiz for pve since its faster to kill.

OK thanks a lot. But shouldnt i just get physical raze if im in a party? Also, should i be getting the lower level nukes like fire bolt and ice bolt? or should i just wait for Blizzard or Meteor?

Well, im gonna be plvled for sure. Im just doing this build because it seems interesting and i just want to test it. If it doesnt work out, I could always switch to my Warlock/Cleric.

I am wondering how warlocks deal with holy word...I would really like to know that. With a wiz sub, you can easily take care of it, and with a cleric sub you can simply stun and offering as well, but what happens with a bard sub or something? Can you kill a pure str blader that has holy spell with a warlock for example if they just sit there and tank or possibly KD you every once in a while? I just can't see how reflect, shadow armor, blood flower, stun and vampire kiss can do it.

holy word doesnt work on dots... just their effects
you can kill with 2 dots and a nuke and vampire...

Are you sure holy doesn't work on dots? If it works on bloody trap I am sure it works on dots 2....not to mention the fact that innocence cures dots and since it does, holy prevents it...or should seeing as innocence cures the same effects that holy prevents/minimizes.

Holy word doesn't protect against dots, and it is pretty easy to kill people with holy word. Panic still goes through, plenty of absolute damage moves, vampire, dots, and nuke and they're outta there.

Or just great partys, I leveled to around 60+ with Warlock/wiz build before deleveling for cleric to just experiment around. No deaths at all because teleport and mirage is a very useful skill to lose aggro off mobs.

its not the best build but heres how u work the pvp/pve thing
first u put on warlock rod, do 1 set of debuffs, if they resist dont bother to try again, then put on the DoT stuff.
then switch to the wiz and bind, then run
then u jsut do your nukes while runing, if he gets too close use teleport

Kind of doesn't make sense for dots not to work if the dot effects are curses. But I am not a warlock, what do I know.

......Dots attack through the effects though, so if their primary effect is resisted, which is what a high enough holy would do, then the dot doesn't even do anything. Every time someone says something from the warlock line works on holy, I end up going ingame to check and make sure it's true/not true...doubt I will do that this time since it always takes me forever to find a warlock under level 70.... So far, I've only seen panic work on holy, even when it should not have worked according to it's status effect.

i dont think any of the dots work because i remember being able to resist them with holy word...same goes with the trap bomb (skull thingy) and sleep
only thing that works are wheel bind, stun and vampire skills (unsure if disease gets resisted though) and that's pretty much it i think

dots, vampire touch, nuke, panic, stun, and some other instant damaging skills only the debuffs won't and disease would get resisted
edit: the reason DOTS can't be resisted - its not a status effect its an attacking skill

Again, dots attack through effects. I remember resisting them too. I can see the initial 37% dmg working but you won't see the effect toxin land when you use toxin... Get it? It's not just the burn effect that blaze causes, it's the blaze effect that does the dmg and that's what I am calling an effect, and as one it gets resisted. Wheel bind and panic are the only ones I have not resisted so far...and stun if you count that.

Again, dots attack through effects.
and what part of that makes us think you even know how to use warlock...
because dots are attacks... they most certainly do damage even if their status doesnt get on...
whoever came up with idea that dots only work by effect havent even bothered playing a warlock

(mainly wondering about the wizard skills,
If you plan going going to 80 all 4 Wizard passives need to be 80 you will need them all. ALSO THIS BUILD CAN ONLY BE DONE BY POWER..LV YOU WILL SKIP THE 1ST BOOK NUKES..they are useless for a war/wiz but if you have no plv you will only make it harder on yourself learning these and it'll only be more SP you will need. The 1st book nukes are useless to a warlock/wizard you need power...1 hitters only you don't have time to nuke..and nuke..and nuke.
Earth Mentalist:
Ground Charge: Skip
Root: Skip
Earth Shock: Max
Earth Barrier: Max
Ground Rave: Skip
Mesh Root: If you want it, don't need Max Root for this.
Earth Quack: Max
Earth Fence: Max
Cold Mentalist
Ice Bolt: Skip
Mana Drain: Skip
Snow Wind: Max
Invisible: Max
Frozen Spear: Skip
Mana Drought: If you want it, don't need Max Mana Drain for this.
Blizzard: Max
Crystal Invisible: Max
Fire Mentalist
Fire Bolt: Skip
Fire Trap: This one not really needed but it's nice to have
Fire Blow: Skip
Detect: Max
Meteor: Max
Lava Trap: Has same magic attack as Meteor max, if you want it.
Salamander Blow: Skip
Sprawl Detect: Max
Lighting Mentalist
Lighting Bolt: Skip
Lighting Shock: Skip
Charge Wind: Max
Teleport: Max
Chain Lighting: Skip
Lighting Impact: Max
Charged Squall: Max
Aerial Teleport: Max
NOTE: This is can only be done by Power lv only if you have to hand grind you will need to learn those 1st book nukes you can always drop them but..that's all wasted time o_0...if you can't get power lv'ed ALL THE WAY, this build shouldn't be done period...I wouldn't be doing it if I didn't have Embodiment to leech off....
With the Wizard skills..like I have it, plus the Warlock skills you need this build is
523,000 Sp to be farmed at 80.

they dont work through an effect the DOT warlock is attack over and over for a period of time which is why it counts down the warlock's durability they also come with an effect which you are very likely could have resisted
