bow skill points???

i'm a little new to the game, i have a bow and i'm barely getting by on my skill points , my friend has one of those spears and he has enough points to spend on 2 forces and his weapon and still has so many left over , do you get extra skill points when fighting with a spear? and if you can would it work if i were to equip a spear instead of my bow and start fighting with that?

Weapon used has little to do with skill points. The only thing it may affect is how fast you kill and the amount of skills for that weapon which would change how fast you get skill points and how much you have to spend to get your skills. One of the reasons your friend has so much sp is probably because he gaps and sp farms while im assuming you probably 0 gap and dont even know what gap means. Gap is the difference between your lvl and your highest skill mastery lvl. the greater the difference the more sxp compared to xp you get per kill.
