1-H Sword or Dual Axe?

Post by VOwl »

I am torn between the two. i dont know either to be 1h sword or dual axe. i know they both do about the same damage, i just need help.
Can someone tell me

1. Pros and Cons of each

2. Advantages over the other

3. If they do well in PVE and PVP

Edit: My Subclass is Cleric. And no im not going Warlock,
-Warlock subclass is only good for 1vs1, im not going to go around and debuff every mob out there before i attack.
-Cleric, might as well have extra defense and hp healing.

I got some time so i guess I'll reply
1.Pros and Cons of 1 Hand sword
  1. Pros
    1. Highest Def
    2. Dull [slow down enemy and their atks]
    3. Does Double dmg to dulled enemies
    4. 3 80% KB skills
    5. Cost least amount of SP to raise

  1. Cons
    1. Atk Skills are Kinda slow until after lvl 20
    2. Does moderate dmg <40

1.Pros and Cons of Dual Axe
  1. Pros
    1. Fastest atks in warrior Class
    2. Stun, and then some
    3. 1 80% KB skill
    4. Balance - does dmg less than 2 hand but greater than 1 hand [sometimes]
    5. Balance - has def greater than 2 hand, but less than 1 hand
    6. Chains are so cool

  1. Cons
    1. can't tank as much as 1h
    2. can't hit as hard as 2h or 1h at 80 cap
    3. overall average warrior [best of both worlds]

For advantages refer to pros and Cons

PVE VS PVP
  1. from what i have seen and done the 1H is greater in PvE than the dual axe, but the Dual at times because of Stun outperforms the 1H, who, will commonly rely on KB while grinding which; can lead into sticky situations such as:
    1. 2 many mobs to tank >.< more than 12 mobs = DEAD
    2. 2 many party mobs = Dead
    3. KB into an agroe area
    4. KB into 3+ Giants
  2. In PvP i would honestly say the 1H trumps the dual axe, sadly i don't have any available videos to prove this

happy grinding :)

Like he said,1 hand is better at pvp and pve.Dual axe is basically just more party friendly(no rhyme intended).I recently remade (for the fourth time now) a dual axe character. It's fun, but if you want to win pvps or be good at jobbing, I would say it's definitely not worth it.

First, you don't have a shield, so aside from your passive (which doesn't seem to help much) your defense is still low.Second, like it was stated earlier, at lvl 80 even a 1 hander out damages you.So there's virtually no reason to play them unless you want to be unique.

Yeah, they have alot of skills that look alot better than all the other euro warriors skills imo (Guess they gotta have SOMEthing <.<)but I'd look past it.What's the point of looking good, if you end up looking foolish at the end of just about every pvp?

i might add that with dual axes equipped u are resistant to many debuffs if ur protection passive (like a clerics holy word) is maxed. if a warlock or blader tries to weaken/impotent/division it aint gonna work, the buffs dont provide resistance to bleed but axe skills can cause enemies to bleed. killing an enemy is much easier when opponent is stunned and bleeding

1HS is pretty straight forward. Highest defense with decent offensive. There is not much downside, except lower damage relatively.

If you are getting dual axe, you must get 2HS 's Turn Rising skill for knockdown, since there is no knockdown skill for Dual Axe. Dual Axe is the best aggro drawer out of the three weapons, so it is useful to protect your wiz and clerics against mobs. But Dual Axe need a cleric 24/7. For example, a similar level Chinese glavier hit a party mob 3/4 way though, and then u joined in the fun. After less than 2 seconds, you will find yourself getting hit by that party mob. It might be surprising, but pretty much any mob will start hitting you once you dual axe it. regardless how much damage it has taken by another player before hand. But in a good party situation, the dual axe will be the only guy getting hit in the whole party, while the wiz nukes and cleric heals carefree.
