Hybrid Bower - Ice or Fire?

Well, I'm currently a 75:75 bowman with Pacheon/Lightning at my level. Both Ice and Fire masteries are kept at 10 because I still have not figured out which would be better. Thus, creating this thread asking for your opinions. Definitely no lightning imbue for me, I don't really like the transfers :D

So should I:

Go Fire, higher damage, burning effect, wear protector together with the magical defense and physical increase. Or

Go Ice, lower damage, slow effect, wear garment together with the physical defense and go snow shield

Ice imbue? Lols

What you should do is get 60 ice and 62 fire, and delvl 2 lvls of one of your two current trees (maybe light? since you obviously need panch) to get that fire. You get the best of all worlds that way.

Also, you should change to 85%+ phy balance, because it has been shown to not lose much damage out over the 70:70 bower, but crit almost as high as the full str.

You really do need light for hybrid bow build or you will not be able to do any jobs and/or pvp.

you have 2 options.

1. go for max fire/ice/patch and get lvl 32 light for speed increase and first book of warp speed.

OR

2. forget fire altogether. Just max light, ice, and patch.

I have done both. Option 2 was much easier and required much less SP to start off. The ability to use light and ice imbue which have actualy different functions is great. You can use light imbue to attract mobs and ice to freeze them if they are beating on you too much. The main crinkle in the build is the low magic defense, which snow shield should make up for.

If your set on no light imbue, then you are stuck with fire. Ice imbue is dependable only for pve.

With my 80:80 bow I found it benifical to use ice in pvp and pve, if you go light/ice you'll hit lower then with light/fire but a likely overall better char imo.

Light/Ice and a little bit of fire for buffs

You need to get ice to lvl 30 min no matter what you choose. You need the highest lvl snow shield you can get.

Personally I am happy with my decision of being ice/light imbue. Ice does seem to get less useful at higher lvls, but i still use it the most.

Just make sure you have high lvl light for piercing force.

so glaive...ur char is pach/light/ice with garment???

imo,if u didnt take fire and building 70's bow,it better be ice imbue for pve and unique hunter...

this build not the best...but for me its the most interesting chinese build^^

But shouldn't we stick to just 3 masteries?

muyoyea i am light, ice pacheon. The truth is I also have 32 fire so I can be immune to status and for the physical increase buffs. I also have 30 force so i can ress to lvl39 (useful on trade runs etc.) And I have 39hueksal because I tried being hueksal to lvl 42. Yes I will have to dlvl hueksal soon.

Yeah I am in garms. Just switched from protector. Are garms better? I really can't say, I do like the speed increase though. I think it comes down to personal preference.

When choosing masteries you really need to look at the actual skills in those masteries. We like to round to 10 to keep things neat, but often it makes more sense to only have 68 light lets say instead of 70.(i just made that up)
For example some buffs only increase in duration not strength after a certain lvl.

abs i disagree being a hybrid in garms i would prefer ice imbue for freeze slow down and being that he is nut full int it won't effect the total damage too much

I currently wear protector with just Patch/Ice/Light

makes things a lot simpler than having 4 masteries

I got ice for the extra pys defense/ imbue/ frost nova skills/ and snow shield
I got light for extra parry defense/imbue/ speed skill/ and mag attack increase

yea but most level 80s now are immune to ice to basically your just making your char weaker by having ice imbue

he is kinda right about choosing ice imbue
i dont have guts to do it
bower+freezing+knockback+stunn=enemy cant touch u easy xD
but its kinda silly if you already have nice HP
but why not..untouchable rawr

Considering you can without any probs level ice up to 70 right now. And also considering most people arent immuen until there late 50's i believe. Ice isnt that useless.

Feck some fights of me lasted for ever if I didnt discover they wherent immuen at all to ice. Just because the majority of players that are 7X are immuen, doenst mean all of them. If you never try, you never know.

Alright guys. I've given much thought about it and I guess I'm still going Fire/Pacheon/Light. Just 3 masteries. Thanks for all the opinions :D
