I kept my mastery at 7 of course, so at lvl 16 i started farming. Then at lvl 17 i lvled my mastery to 9 so i could do a bit more dmg. My plan was to delevel to 16 again after lvl 18. But then i realised that the gap would not be 9 anymore.

16 - 9 = 7

So have i f*cked my farming up?

you're okay..a two level difference won't do a lot..but it still might..but you're okay

Soo what should i do? Stay lvl 18 or delevel to 16?

If you really care about farming, as in you're gonna be doing it for a month, just start over. It takes, what, a day to get to Lv16? The 2 level gap you have lost will add up over time if you plan to sp farm for an extended period of time, making the time to get back to Lv16 trivial.

Of course, you could also get to level 20 real fast, get a bunch of cursed hearts, then delevel your masteries by 2, and your level by 4. But this would probably take longer than just starting over.

Or, you could just forget sp farming, and maintain a healthy gap from here on out. I agree sp farming is good at bandits, particularly if its not crowded. But since its overhyped by everyone, it often is very crowded, reducing its effectiveness by a lot. It *is* the best time to sp farm in the game, but there *are* other places which are very effective too - sometimes more effective than bandits because its so crowded.

I see where you are getting at. But i have decided to farm to at least 20k. (im up 5 so far) And chosen to either be staying at lvl 18 and keeping the 9 lvl gap for max sp, or delevel to 16 and get more sp for of course being in a lower lvl. What do you think will get me the most sp ?

If you're going to farm a low amount, you should see how much SP you'll need during the grinding levels, that way you can keep a 0-2 level difference at those levels. 20K is good for lvl 42-45, if you really think about it. But deleveling is fine, you'd be killing faster with the added stats.

I had farmed 9k at bandits and kept a 0 mastery gap in order to level fast. Also, dont be fooled, you still will get more SP on the journey up. Once you get to mid 40's you will have to farm again. Farming at 4x is great too, I think it is a lot faster than farming at 16. IMO the only purpose of the farming at 16 is to help you get to 40 faster just so you can farm more.

you can always delevel anytime you want as long as the gap is still there. a 7 gap is not that bad at all. I think that if you really desire to earn a lot of SP's, you need to farm as early as possible, just like the way you are doing now. I had a character who had a 6-level gap from lvl 20 onwards and I find sp farming a bit slower compared to the new character i created (because i was able to farm around 4500sp from lvl 1 to lvl 18, and 16 to 18 in 12 hours of play:D )

**side note: i currently have an 11-level gap right now (18/7). at lvl 17, i observed that i earn 200sp per 10%exp. with the 11-level gap, i will check if there will be roughly any improvement in the ratio. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to measure at 9-level gap, so I am trying right now. I am planning to keep my mastery level at 7 while continuing to level until 25 then delevel back to 16 I'll post any update on a separate thread.
