yes imo its a good idea. I have one and i can take one giants 2 or 3 lvls above me using bless spell. I use robe but its up to you. Light will give you a little bit more phy. defense. Then when u get recovery division its like god mode when using bless spell cause the damage a wiz does it insane.

I take 2-3 giant nachals at a time with bless and zerk, and since those spawn more than 1 at a time it's all good for me. If you are careful, you can take on party nachals if you just kill them 1 at a time. Since those mobs attack slow (1 time in 5 sec), you division fully heals you before the 2nd attack, so you won't die.

Granted light armor won't be more useful at the hashades, sonars/planers, nachals and mages, I do not regret going light armor. I could train as easily on magic mobs as I could on p.atk mobs and if you are the cleric in a party your physical defence is usually more important because your tanker will be str so the parties are going to be around p.atk mobs like mujigi, penons, yetis, and cave earth ghosts...and ultimately generals.

Plus, when you switch over to cleric the defense passives for light armor are so good that they often make up for the gap between light armor, heavy armor and robes, giving you p.def of heavy armor, and m.def of light armor.
