1:7 int hybrid armor problems

ok, so i am a 1:7 int hybrid doing heuskal(sp?), lightning, and cold
ive got all the skills planned out, i think >_< lol.... but thats not the point
oh, and im 16 atm

what armor should i use?
i have no idea which one
the difference in defense between garment and armor doesnt seem to warrant me switching to armor and losing the 20/20 thing that garments have
on the other hand, i could use protector and get a 10/10 bonus, but is it worth it for such a little increase in physical defense

also, i apologize if this is in the wrong place =O or if has already been asked, the guides just said your choice *Shakes fist*

Prot or (I would use) garms.
Why?
Armor---you get 1-shot by fellow int's.

Prot---you do pretty well against int's and str's, but a good str crit will probably still kill you. Good str can still kill you.

Garms---you will rock against int's, str crit will kill you, str will usually kill you. However, since you use 20% less mp, you can get a high mana shield without fear of running out of mp. Which is why I recommend garms, though prot's not bad either. I usually end up getting whatever is cheaper.

garment... you need the mag defence that you not get from fire...

I don't understand why this is such a mystery to everyone... this is how the armor types work:

Armor - Good for INT Builds (Very strong Phys Def)
Garm - Good for STR Builds(Very Strong Mag Def)

Prot - Better for Hybrids because you have enough Mag or Phys def that you can get away with less def in that area.

Where you have your stat points really determines what you wear. If your build is INT, then you already have a great deal of mag def, so why would you go Garm and make it even greater? You should go with Armor or Prot to help with your phys def which is a weakness.

Alternatively, some say garms look the best and go with them anyway. Plus they have the 20/20 advantage on moving speed and MP usage.

Just experiment a little and see what you like better. At the lower levels the diff between them is minimal, but the higher you go the more you'll see the advantages between them.

Hope this helps

that is just silly , pure int cant wear armour unless its sun armour because ints would nuke them so hard 1-2 nukes dead so ints have to go protector or garment

aah true didn't see that he was neglecting fire. Garms it is for you then, unless you want to get 1-hit like half the GNG contestants were when they chose spear in protector against other int's. :roll:

This is how I look at the Chinese armor:

Garment = STR Build

Protector = Hybrid Build

Armor = INT Build

with a half decent armor set, it would take a pure int spear 3-4nukes to kill you without snow shield or fire buffs (xlarge pots at lv80).

that seems flawed to me
if you look at all the defenses
protector just is NEVER worth it
your magic defense drops significantly, and the phys gain is next to nothing in respect to the magic defense drop.
then armor is not much more of a boost from protector, but then yet again, you lose magic defense
also the 20/20 is a huge help... =]
thanks everyone

how about a fuse of both prot and amor....

nope....prot is not really that bad actually... u just have to make it +5 at least then it will be good.
make sure it has good str and int in them too, as they increase your base magic defence and phy defence.
In the past, i used to pimp 2 sets, one armour, and one garment. But it starts to get too costly in the upkeep and the trouble of switching.
In the end, i sold both, and had prot set, with +5 and +6 in them.

For your info on why i had 2 sets, i use armour to job and pvp, and garments to train in niya mages.

You are making the assumption that 1 point of physical defense is = to 1 point magic defense. What if it isn't?

armor is quite useless to anyone...and now popular build will skip fire...

nuke is overdamage...even if ur pure int with fire..if ur in armor ull get alot damage too...

hybrid+fire i suggest prot
hybrid+no fire i think its garment

No

Use Garm.
ur hybrid so u wont need that much defnse
u can have 40% snow shield with garms and not run out of mana
u will own all nukers...with snowshiled u will own all glaivers... just do it u will be happy u did

Yeah if you dont get fire you better get garment for the mag def. Prot could do it but you'll probably feel better in garms.

As you're 16 you still have some time to think about it.
