Hi all,

I finally finished farming. I am level 80, fully farmed 80 cold/light/wep 60 fire (spear user). My mag balance is 101% and phy is 71%.

Yesterday I was pvping a full farmed 80 pure str glaive and my problem was that I kept running out of MP. I am using the 50% mana shield, I have 12.3K HP and 18K MP. I have about 5-9K HP after each hit by the glaiver, but I couldnt nuke or use any weapon skills because I was out of MP. My MP was set at 80%.

My question is, is there anything I can do? Would it be suggested I switch my build to S/S to block some of the hits?

As I see it, your options are:

Set your restore % higher,

Don't use Manashield,

Delevel it to a more reasonable balance,

Switch to S/S.

Whatever you choose should best reflect your playing style. Personally, I'd just delevel mana shield until I didn't have the same problem.

Higher lvl snow shield drains MP like crazy. There really isn't anything that you can do unless you can buff up your defense somehow for a split second. A Block would help but a stun and some "resting" time would be best. Maybe an ice shield thrown in there to give time for pots to kick in. If you are a spear user... don't you have that dull move? That would really help

This is what I will try tonight...

In my side bar put 45% mana shield and the special pills for dull status removal, and see how I do.

Yes absolutely.

Use a lower book snow shield, i don't even think you need 50% to be able to 1v1 pvp anyone and stay alive

You could try spamming vigors. I would have thought you wouldn't be having such a problem with those balances. Keep us updated.

btw wts yr main imbue? Fire force series, Cold force series or Thunder force series.

You could consider switching to protector or garments to reduce your MP usage for nukes, but you should at least set your autopot at 80% or up.

Switching to garment would cause a glavier to hit even harder most likely negating the efficiency effects.

Put MP on 99% and start bashing Vigors.. Or use a lower book ( less MP consumption xD )

try use protector...it would be fine i think....but anyway...i haven see a spear user run out of mana using protector or garment^^......if u see urself running out of mana.....try ghost spear twice to push hit back to restore ur mana...but any way....ur blue r great....71% phy and 101% mag.....very great blues....if not mistaken...full str int blues~_~

if you end up at 5k hp on your 12k you got a problem in your defense gear.

What protector are you in?

pretty normal... i played a friends char (80 full int with 20k mp & 50%snow shield) and ran out of mp against a +7 glavier... mp was set at 70% ;\. So i suggest you to spam vigors like crazy

at lvl 90 a nuker gonna be forced to use garment... if you use armor no extra mag defence.. (easy to get killed by a garment nuker).. so switch to garment.. your phy defence comes from your ice buff... and i dont think the difference of a glavies dmg gonna be so much higher.. and btw.. switch to sword it is sexier ^^,

...Dude, that makes no sense... If some1 does enough dmg to take out 18, or fine 13k mp, since you need like 2-3k for a skill and another 2k for imbue. You realize that anyone doing enough dmg to take leave you with under 5k mp would kill you, right? since HP and MP delay is the same, and you have under 13k hp, it wouldn't make sense to run out of mp and still stay alive.
I suggest you time your skills better with the imbue instead of continuously pumping it. Only use your imbue before your use the skill for fast skills like mars, and wait a half a sec if you are using a slower skill. It's all about timing.

He is not a nuker, he should be using protector in the first place since it would increase his defense against chinese.

Pure int - sword shield nuker in garment ( garment + shield will save abuse to snow shield )

ice - light as masteries .... and ice imbue ( will save alot on abuse to your snow shield )

ice nukes + light nukes + lion shouts ( OMFG DID HE SAY ICE NUKES?? )
YOU WOULD BE SURPRISED WHO YOU CAN KILL

pve( against monsters ) 45%+ pot will do

pvp and jobbing - i suggest 60-95% auto pot

this is a 2 mastery build for the long term..... works really good with some love and care

vigors.

if armor > go prot

if prot > go garm (sucide lol)

ull gonna run out mana that way lol ... its the same mp gain as the guy has problems with ....

When 50% sucks ur mp, then immagine 60% at lvl 100 and 70% at 120

hmm im 80 pure int spear using protector with only lvl 60 ice (40%shield) and i never run out of mp or die to glaviers in 1v1 mp only 19k btw mabe u should try 40%and if he gets ur mp/hp low switch to s/s for a few secounds while it pots up again

My issue was resolved by deleveling my snow shield from 50%->40%.


Also with the new wizard costume I was able to change my mag balance from 101% to 102%

The only time i remember running out of mp when fighting , is fighting a bower or a sword int(after 2mins of fighting having bleed and division status)
The bower crits drop my mp like mad.
Ya, u should not use armour , as it drains alot mp if u insist on using 50% snowshield.
So far i havent run out Mp when fighting glaivers.
Its only when fighting SUn glaivers, i do face that problem.... and... shortly afterwards.... no more hp =X when the battle is prolonged.

ok guys i think ur pro. in Hybrid INT plz i need help!!!

from lv1 to lv20 i was put 3 points in INT

and from lv21 to lv31 2 INT 1 STR

then from Lv32 to Lv59 3 points INT

and now from lv60 to lv64 2 INT 1 STR

am using spear and my set protector!

SO this char. will be strong or what? and f there any problem in my char. how can i fix it????

This is a very commom mistake made by a hyrbid Spear.

This is what your Masteries SHOULD look like...

80 Spear
80 Light
80 Fire*****
60 Ice as in 40% snowshield will do

Wear GARMS>for 20%less mana comsumpstion

no one suggested force mastery for the passive?

dunno How much the passives are for each lvl, just thought of the idea.
