ive made a new character and hes level 18 now... and i think its time to decide what weapon im going to use...

hes a 2:1 int hybrid... about to go heavy int... fire and lightning are about equal right now

i like to PvP (i know this isnt the best build for it) and i love the damage of heavy int...so im trying to decide wether to go spear or sword

SPEAR:
greater damage (by far), which is needed because i cant do as much damage as full int, makes nukes stronger...

BUT there is no defence... and if some one crits on me... i have no chance..

SWORD:
still some great damage... chains with a heavy int imbue are insane... and if i put some SP into ice this could be a bad@$$ PvPer (correct me if im wrong)... not to metion KD which could also save my ass...

and we cant forget the infamous BLOCK and extra defense of a shield...

but nukes would be CRAP they are already lower with a sword... and me being a hybrid makes it even lower... and NUKES are suppose to be a heavy int's BREAD AND BUTTER, PRIDE AND JOY,etc... lol you get the point...

any person with some experience with this kinda stuff.... can you come and help me?

nukes are not crap with a sword
thay only look crap if you conpair em to a spear .
Spears is all about offence and no defence , but you already knew that


personaly i would say , go with spear , and just use a sword shield if your in pvp vs a though oponent or multiple oponents
you dont realy need bisheon skills for that , couse later on you'd be doing things like flame wave arrow+ wolfsthunderbolt+ shocklion shout anyway's , and even with out the passive a 17% block shield is still better than nothing




also spears have stun , sword has knockdown

biggest diff between those is , knock down costs more sp
Stun means you can hit with anything you have , wile knockdown only has its follow up stab's

but only sword and blade can attack when its knocked down so u dont have to worry about spear/glavies ksing u..

and the stun percentage on the spear skills is not very high...

knock down percentage of sword skills are much higher... thus making it more effective...
