Wizard/Warlock EXPERIENCED PLAYERS comment!

Hey guys,
I'm thinking of maybe starting a Wizard/Warlock...
Mainly Wizard for PvE either solo normal mobs and also in parties
- 1 to 2 nukes for fast grinding
- Best AOE in the game for party grinding
while Warlock for PvP and also tanking giants/party mobs.
- Stun/Sleep/Debuffs etc makes him able to tank
- PvP is pretty much disable the enemy and curse before finishing them off with Wizard nuke.
Anyone experienced players currently using this build, preferably level 40+... and let me know how it performs in both PvE and PvP (Job Wars/ Guild Wars/ 1v1 etc) situations. List the advantage and disadvantages if possible - ie. not the self-explanatory "It does most damage because of debuffs like Raze then nuke." but rather vs each class and race...

68 Warlock/Wiz sub
Main class is warlock and its working GREAT for pvp.
Most people say go hybrid with cleric, which I agree is most practical in most situations but teleport-invisible-destealth-and earth barrier are awesome skills specially when jobbing. Gl funding for the sp.

Only reason being I like Cleric but it's not that feasible to rely on Bless all the time since the cooldown period is so large, same with that Offering spell (interrupt me please to cancel best spell in game LOL).
The fact that you can cast spells real fast makes Warlock and Wizard a good choice...So which spells exactly do you learn from both trees then?
I'm rather leaning towards a Wizard with a Warlock sub instead. The damage is right there...just need the curses happening and if needed for PvP tankers, just use more Warlock than Wizard skills instead until you can unleash the final blow!

It's a good idea.
Doesn't matter if it's warlock/cleric or warlock/wizard, either way it's a 1 shot finisher. With warlock/wizard if you get blocked you will probably be able to fear/bump, and switch back to warlock, but with warlock/cleric you can bless spell and self heal so it's pretty much the same.
Both builds are really good though.

you wont need warlock sub if your going wizard, wizards go for the KO, switching to warlock only wastes time and potential nukes.

No one is going to let you just nuke them o_0...plus to 1 hit you will prolly need Life Control, which cuts your life in half.. o_0 or you can just.
Daze(stun), Combat Raze(Impotent), Courage Raze(Division) then you switch to staff and boom..1 hit..this is alot better anyway..o_0 Impotent lowers their phy/mag attack so you can take a few hits after you switch to staff if you don't 1 hit them..this beats...getting 1 hit so easy with life control anyday. My wiz/war is only 46 and fighting this way is more fun, then using stealth..then retreat back to safezone to repeat o_0...

yeah, I've pvp alot of str chars and mainly if they don't die in 1 hit, then there's big chance im dead (via crit, knockdown, knockback)
and in a perfect world where you get to shoot once and then shoot again before they come to u does not happen all the time
especially when you're jobbing and situations where you encounter more than 1 enemy
having disables increase survivability imo as well as kill rates.
being a 1 hit wonder isn't nice and nor is it when they absorb that damage with mana shield/bless making you look like fresh meat standing there to be eaten.
also I'm pretty good with macroing weapon switch etc so it's not that much time wasted for me anyways...

Wizards have their own means of defense if you have them farmed though. You can fear first before some1 attacks, and that will do the trick as well as anything a warlock can provide, although daze and slumber cast faster. You can also use charged winds first before nuking. It does the trick against euros since they probably won't have pots at 90%.
But a warlock is more effective at stopping the enemy and making them submit, so if I had to pick between 1 of the two masteries without subclass it would be warlock. They are sort of the int hybrid without being hybrid.

i dont know stun skill cool down time but if its not long i made a litle strategy for my new warlock/cleric. if ur fighting a str u can do this: use 2 DoT spells (not the ones u can cure by pill) then stun + switch to cleric rod and use offering skill. ur mate probobly dead cause he cant move and wont interupt u when casting. ur 2 dot skills make ur oponent hp about 70-50% so even for str offering skill will have enough dmg to kill it. for ints or rogues u can just quickly stun and offering them cause they hits are strong and u dont want to ge hited dont u?

Everything I've read about Wizards imply they do not need any other class.
Like xbow rogue, they either kill in 1-2 hits or die trying.
Wiz/Bard FTW

you wont get owned once you get invisible spell XD if you cant be seen by most other players you will have first hit most of the time and oneshot your enemys..
oh and warlock is only usefull if you want to play without lifecontrol.. because it takes some time to cast it so it wouldnt work well if you want to switch between warlock rod and staff alot..
