Fire @ 90

Post by Aby »

I've read through the Nuker guides and I can't seem to find the reason behind their suggestions: Why drop fire @ the 90 cap, and replace it with cold?

im not too sure also... cold tree for nukers will only benefit them from the phy def and snow shield which will realy add to the surviability but the fire tree def still puts in much more dmg as compare to the others. im currently a hybrid s/s nuker and would like to have more dmg... But from what i know.. pple commented that its possible to get high dmg from the light tree so yeah... thats partly the reason... im hoping that capped players at lvl 80 can give their inputs on what they think when the 90 cap comes... thanx

Snow shield at lvl90 gives you a 55% damage reduction, plus the phys defence is really good.

And wear garment to compensate for the lack of mag def.

But then the loss of dmg will be tremendous. Not only the fire nuke, but also the fire passive & phy dmg buff for pvp.

Not really, the phy. buffs don't make that big of a difference since most of your damage is magical. Ice is much more worth it since the difference between fire and light damage isn't much and ice offers much needed defense.

Also, i'm not sure if you understand snow shield well, with 50% activated if you get crit for 10k, you will only lose 5k hp, that alone is pretty damn useful.

You think the 9% physical dmg increase would be a huge difference in a pure int's damage?

At the 80 cap the lightning nuke owns the fire nuke cause the fire nuke is only like 267% which is shitty dmg, while the lightning nuke stays at 300%

I don't know if that will change at the 90 cap

Also, you could ditch bicheon in exchange for fire if you really want the nukes.

The thing is that snow shield @ 60 gives like 40%? An extra 15% to lose all the benefits of having not 1, but 2 strong nuke trees. Also without fire shield, won't there be much less immunity to freeze?

That's what I wasn't seeing. Now I understand. But what about Choosing fire over lightning?

choosing 2 strong fire nukes over mag increase/grasswalk/really powerful nukes/shouts/parry increase isnt worth it

for a nuker lighting has hte all important mag atk buff which fire still has only mag def and phys atk. light > fire and cold > fire at 90 cap for nukers

And so is it going to be worth the immense costs at 80 to delvl fire for the advantage of a faster grind to 80?

yeah not only faster grinding but also better shot in pvp. light nukes r better than fire nukes right now and with the light buff it just makes more sense to use light over fire.

It wouldn't hurt to level it to like lvl 43 so you can use flame wave burning and the light nuke to grind, then once you get your second light nuke at 50 I suppose you can de-lvl fire to 30.

Oh and I believe flame wave wide maxed does more damage then any other nuke:

[Flame wave - Wide] Lv 11 (76) - 644~1074 (315%)
[Flame wave - Wide] Lv 12 (seventy eight) - 705~1175 (315%)
[Flame wave - Wide] Lv 13 (80) - 780~1300 (330%)

[Horse's Thunderbolt] Lv4 (76) - 641~1191 (300%)
[Horse's Thunderbolt] Lv5 (seventy eight) - 683~1269 (300%)
[Horse's Thunderbolt] Lv6 (80) - 728~1352 (300%)

boths the nukes do about the same damage , lol dont u notice the the trick :P

[Horse's Thunderbolt] Lv6 (80) - 728~1352 (300%)
ok they made the horse thunderbolts damage stronger but the percentage lower

[Flame wave - Wide] Lv 13 (80) - 780~1300 (330%)
they made the damage lower but the percentage higher

this is just my theory , u can believe it if u want

:P

basically they do about the same damage,

sry for double post :D

if i where you guys , id stick to only 2 major masteries and 1 minor one. next year for sure the lvl cap will be raised to 120 and you be having a difficult time reducing ur masteries by then.

Id preffer Lighning than Fire.. If you play SRO that much you already know the difference of the two. ^^
