skills question

Note: I am a noob and this is only my second day playing

With that out of the way I'm a bit confused. I am at lvl 7 and have 2 skills I leanred. But after I got them, i saw little to no improvemnt in my damage and stuff. So the question is do I have to eqquip them somwhere? Or Learn them or something? Im confused. Also I have one force skill. After I got it nothing at all happened. Shouldnt my sword be on fire or something?

Yup you need to put them in your quickslot bar. Left click on it and drag it down to one slot in it. Then push the number on your keyboard to activate the skill.

You first need to equipt them into your quickslot bar, then once you do that click on an enemy only once just to see the name. Click the sword skill you want to use and it will run towards them and the opening blow will be your attack.
