FOR GLAVIE USERS: IS CHAIN SPEAR SERIES WORTH GETTING?
Hey guys,
I've been reading all the glavie guides. Some of the guides say CHAIN SPEAR SERIES is not worth getting, and others say to max it out. I just want to know from personal experience is its worth getting it. By worth it, i mean, does it do enough damage. BY THE WAY...I have PLENTY OF SP...so please don't mention SP as a reason NOT to get. Only if the attack is strong compared the the previous two skills. Thanks

Yes, this skil is worth getting if you are a pure str or hybrid str glavie user. If for some reason you are a INT or hybrid int with a glavie (?!?) then do not get this skill.
This is a game, You're invited. www.lost.eu/572c4

depends on your foce imbue
if your fire , just go for max damage moves and just forget about chains
if your lightning or ice , chains will be helpfull
ice imbue defenetely needs chains to have any effect
lightning would need chains to land hits in wile the oponent is shocked
with out chains the shock effect would surely be pilled away befor you can land your big slow hits

The chain spear series is perfect for taking out people/npcs that use shields. I love chain spear shura!

Chain tiger eventually becomes the strongest move at level 69.
Yeah, i saw the video clip of lvl 69 chain on the http://sro.mmosite.com/ webpage. Awsome. I notice for the first book: the first 2 hits do decent damage, while the third usually results in a CRITICAL. I added up the damage and its way more than the 4th and 5th skill. I think I'll end up keeping it now since i have plenty of SP to use and also i like having 3 attacks instead of 2. By the way, I currently have 29% increase in speed...should I max out the grassflow walk at 5x% or is that overkill in speed?

If you're hitting a critical on the third hit a lot, it's a fluke. If you use the 4 hit combo, you would be more likely to hit the critical as well, but if you're not a str player I would avoid the combos all together.
No such thing as overkill in this game as far as speed goes. Any increase in speed is just going to get you to your mobs faster and in effect help you level faster.
For me, I use the flying dragon first, then combo, then end with either ghost spear or soul spear depending on how much hp the mob has left. I always leave ghost spear for last because it's so slow after the attack.
I am the king of alchemy. Here is the proof.
And yes, that's WITH lucky powders.

Eh, it's actually more like this. stun, chain, jade breaking, and ghost spear: princekitary wrote:trow glaive ,stun glaive , spin glaive , chain glaive ,
or
stun glaive , spin glaive , chain glaive ,
works best for me
This is the highest damaging combo at my level. Save your points and dont get nachal, it's a waste imo.

Magic + spear throw, 5 hit combo, soul spear or ghost petal series.
If you need more than those 3 moves to kill it then your killing too high level monsters, your magic will have run out before you kill it. You need to imbue the magic just before you launch the spear.
When you get to level 58 though you can do spear throw, 3rd soul spear and then the 5 hit combo.
The combo is the most damaging regardless of what the stats say.

I havent used the high chains, so there is my disclaimer!
But in PvP those chains wont get it done unless they string some serious crits. Now you can total up the damage of a leveld chain and get more than a Soul, or Ghost, but the time it does it in is different, easy to heal thru.
So IMO Chain = PvE only
Now if I had excess SP I would probably have max throws and a high level chain, but I dont so I stick to ghost and Soul.
IMO Ghost skills and Soul skills is all one needs for PvP and even PvE. A Glaiver simply isnt going to level fast unless he is damaging several targets at once. If you use chains alot then you are spending time to do similar damage that can be done with one impact but that one skill can hit 5 foes......
Do as you wish, its your character and your SP but i simply laugh if somoene chains me in PvP.

pvp chains are so nub , I don't get why they rock in pve and suk so badly in pvp. I throw in a chain just to see the dmg ( own lv ) and it goes like 230 230 300 300 750 . That's somewhere near 1.5k dmg ( I don't feel like calculating it ) my soul spear does like 2k and a knockback ghost spear does a good 2.5. Both go faster than the combo

<<
There is a level 69 Chain movie on Tavern i just watched the first 25 seconds of.....freaking dialup here.....anyway, the gest of it is this.
57+ vs 69+
I saw a 3400 critical, the 57 wasnt potting so he died, but come now, 57 vs 69 she could probably use normal swings and kill him as easy. Ghost or Soul would of 1 hit him ifi it crit and it would of been 12k+ I bet......

Thanks for everyone's input. I think i'll use my next ten hearts to de-lvl the chain. Even though I have a high crit weapon, i think im better off being safe than praying those crits hit when i PvP. Moral of the story: Combos may look cool and do equal(if not more) damage in total, but in the long run, they are easily interrupted/healed if criticals do now come up.

Just wanted some clarification, I thought combos can't be interrupted, unless you die.
Also, since somebody already mentioned it, how good is spear throw for both pvp and pve in the higher lvls, 50s+?
chains are great for pve for one reason: mobs dont pot
except crits they do more dmg then the one-hit skills. but for pvp crits are the only way for str chars
