1:2 Hybrid bow... Only for pve? 8)

I've been wondering is it good in PVP (with cold and snow shield of course 
)
My friend just can't decide whether he should continue 1:2 or switch to str hybrid (at 80lvl he'll have 85% phy)
So, I want your advices (yeah, this probably is like 5000th topic about hybrid bows, but don't be mad
)
