Post by djkelvz »

please answer the poll and state your reasons for using fire/ice..

I am currently using fire, but is starting to think that ice is better... for a bow user that is... thanks a lot!

The Reason i pick ice for bow is because ice can slow the mobs or freeze them, so you don't have to take more damage and don't have to spend to much money on pots.. i am a noob in this game.. i am not sure.. so do what ever you like, personally i like ice more then fire :D

I <3 Fire. Bow already lacks power, and just compare 4th book Ice Force to 4th book Fire Force. There is a 125 damage difference!!!! That makes a huge difference, when you already do less than Spears and Glavies.

I like fire simply because it does more damage. Don't mind if the monster gets up to me and attacks me 1-2 times.

i am lvl 30 right now with a 6-level gap.. I am wondering at what level will I see a farther difference between the two (fire - ice). I am being tempted by the slow effect and the skill cancel because of frost... i have to admit... i am having a tough time dealing with ice characters :(

Sounds like you ice, I think you should go with ice, it will be more fun if you do what you prefer.

But ice can be 100% preventable, get the right gear, upills, and fire shield-phoenix skill.

use both fire and ice

fire=more dmg u deal to mobs and u receive more dmg also if ur dmg is not high
ice=lower dmg to mobs but u receive lesser dmg

if ur not conservative about using pots then use fire. if u are going pvp use fire. if ur going pve, u can use ice and fire can be used also

noob question but why is it that everyone seems to use fire + lightning as sub rather than fire with ice as sub?

I say ice, becouse damage difference is not so big between different imbuls. But with ice you slow and freeze your enemy when you get more extra shooting time..

I prefer ice because monsters won't damage u alot when they are slowed or frostbitten... so u dont have to use so many health potions.. :) I am currently lvl 38 at babel... ice and lightning type

really it is so sad that you are 38 and worry to save hp pots...lol...u are full str....lol....how long do you take to kill a mob? when you are a higher lvl u will kick yourself for using ice so long......
most ppl here are giving their opinion on noobie experiences...bowmen must use fire...no ..it will not affect low lvls...but when u are high lvl u are a very inefficient character...with fire buff and passive...the physical dmg increase will simply blow out ice.....hey hey...it's like fire is meant for str char....wow....durrrrr

survivor of the fittest ....if u get to a very hi lvl with ice bow...congrats..but you are pretty useless in the battlefield.

out of curiosity, I tried to master fire shield (reduce abnormal status). But to use this, i carry with me a shield. I use the shield, buff then switch to bow. Tested this against taoists/magicians/gun powders and there really is a difference in the abnormal state if maxing this out till book 4 (which is 78% reduce to abnormal state + upills) i think this will be the answer against the slow effect..(haven't tried it actually against an ice player) maybe i should try maxxing this mastery our. :)

just a question coming from a noobie: is the freeze effect prolonged as its mastery is further upgraded? What i mean is as its skill level increases, the more it is hard to cure with upills?

pure str builds do not need the protection of ice. Ice really is better suited for nukers and ints as the physical protection is more significant to them.

level 39 pure str fire bow, I have over 3500 hp, it takes a while for the orange monsters to take me out, fire imbue + spirit bow + fire damage buff + crit 7 bow(+2) = 3500 points of damage. Taking out red yeowas in a single blow.

What in God's green earth made ice more appealing to you?

I prefer to take both. Ofcourse you gotta lvl all forces, because you cant refuse these nice buffs.. Imbues - ice and fire. Fire for quickkill, ice for torture or against nukers. My experiencies have told me, that ice is better for lvlup and sp farming at lower levels. Higher levels you get more dmg from fire. Take both. Farm enough SP's and you'll be just fine. GL :P

EDIT: Typo
-.-

in pvp, ice can make the opponent pauses for a few seconds after being frostbitten unless they have frost reduce gears. so Ice ftw!
