Do 2 handed warriors suck?

My friend is playing a 2 handed warrior, and he gets the feeling he's just there to suck up the damage and pull enemies. Even my cleric seems to outdamage him. While he deals 500-700 damage, my spell hits for 1000-1100. Do warriors really do so little damage? Are we missing something here or do warriors really have sucky damage (relatively)?

Just to be clear: I like my character, but he is second guessing his choice (warrior/rogue) at this point in time, so any info you can give us on what the situation will be like at higher level would be appreciated.

Warriors are one of the strongest ...

Its the strongest out of the sword/shield and dual axe

Sword/Shield = Weakess but you are the big main tanker of the party
best defense

2hander =Strong ..ok at tanking have alot of hp from passives and can be a damage dealer of the party

Dual axe = All around balance you are both ok strong and ok defense
plus you hit twice 8)

and remmber you might hit 200 more but he can tank alot more then you can and later on it starts to balance out he soon will start doing more damage then your holy magic attacks just not on a low level.

yes, 2-handers are the strongest types of warriors, with ok tanking ability, and able to dish out damage at later levels

and int builds, such as clerics, wizards, etc. tend to die alot, so warriors are a stable to any party

2h Warriors FTW! :D

Though you should tell your friend that maybe he might want to take like s/s skills (or dual axe skills) for even better tanking cuz maybe some parties might want that.
