pure int spear fire/light ice/light ???

all this talk about dropping fire has got me worried...what 2 force do you guys suggest for pure int spear...should i go fire/light or ice/light?

seirously i can't decide...i mean fire nukes are the bread and butter of my grind, but i don't use shield so there is no advantage as far as the shielf buff from fire...
all there is left is the mag def boost and imbue....
is ice the better choice here?

Ice is not only mana shield, its phys def buff+passive. Pretty sure every int build could use some phys def...and without mana shield pvp might not be a spears strong suit to say the least.
If your still in the leveling stage its harder to decide...fire nukes will increase the speed at which you grind, but adding sp into a tree you ultimately are considering dropping seems counterproductive.
If you do drop the fire i suggest ya kill something you need more then one hit for and use your shouts to finish after nuke, or kill something low enough you 1 hit and the transfer + shout kills a second.

got the same problem here.
ice got phy def increase and mana shield.
fire got great mag def, insane phy dmg, strongest imbue and most range on nukes and (constantly) strong nukes and cold imune (i would carry arround a shield to use the buff)
the way I see it:
it all comes down your fighting strategy:
- fire: high dmg, more support (strong in group war), more range, keep distant, lower phy def but higher mag def.
-cold: lower dmg, stronger in 1vs1, less range, more phy def but less mag def.
so i guess look what you do or use most of the times. But i'm still doubting here. What I should max.. i'm s/s though.

Will you use fire nukes in PVP, though? Lion Shout is faster than any Fire Nuke. The third lightning nuke is stronger than any Fire Nuke.

Did, it ever cross your mind to Drop lighting to 60..and go 80,80,80 spear, fire, ice ? I had my lighting at 60 for 5 months and I do more then fine without and I plan on keeping it at 60. Seriouly the only thing that will seem off at 1st is the, run fast..but after sometime you will get use to that. Getting lighting to 80 is such a overkill and a huge waste of sp..you boosting stats for only 3 or 4 points o_0..and a new nuke..not worth droping fire which gives you tons of useful stuff. But if you one those many people who are scared of a fight and needs to run away then, take your lighting to 80....

because it wont work well with 90 cap and you are stuck with the same problems as an ice/light. 1 very strong nuke and 1 very weak one. i would do 80light 80fire 80 spear 30 ice. you will be very strong but cost around 25% in mana sheild. but if u are nearing the cap and plan to delevel skills then you can go with that first one

it did...but i keep hearing lightning has the strongest nuke.

yeah but knowing JM the 90 cap won't be for a long time..
And how is the new cold nuke?? is it much weaker again?? or is it really so weak as you make it sound, that it ain't even worth using??

it's not the strongest it has the posiblity to be stronger.
example.. so not the real numbers
light nuke : 100 - 300
fire nuke : 150 - 250
So light nuke CAN hit higher but it can hit lower too. Fire nuke has a more contant dmg as light nuke it's dmg is more diffrent. But you can make this less by getting a high AR. So in the end you'll indeed end up with a stronger nuke at higher lvl's since everybody alchemys the sh*t out of their gear. ^^
But there is more to a good INT then just a strong nuke.
I'm thinking of 80bicheon,80 fire
and then either 70 light, 70 cold or 60 light 80 cold.
I'm not worried about speed for running away..
I already noticed that the speed I have now is enought for fighting phantoming away and to someone that is not running.
What I'm worried about is the speed to catch the ones that are running... since with the new phantom they will prob be gone if I don't KD on the first try.
But on the other hand i'm a Thief so the ones I need to kill can't run away.

The really good skills in force come at 60, 70 and 80.
60 - vital spot body - decrease the physical defense
70 - vital spot mind - decrease the magical defense
80 - vital spot zero - decrease the magical and physical attack
Not getting vital mind seems a bit pointless if you are a nuker. Vital zero will be a great defensive skill to have as well. If you getting force you want to max it for these three. All the other things are just great bonuses.

Don't know, but that should only work for the vital spot muscle and spirit. The others need to be cured with the new pills.

ok so here is the issue,
The grind is pretty fast with fire, but i guess i could take a hit there...i just want a build that will do well jobbing, i'm not really into pvp, but thieving and playing hunter i enjoy (although with the new update i have to choose one).
lightning I like lots besides the mag% buff there is speed. the light nuke is the most damaging albeit with the largest damage range. i think i want to max light. The question boils down to ice or fire for a pure int spear? gimme your thoughts and your final verdict

well i think it's all about your strategy, the way you job and about how much you wanna plan ahead.
Cold more phy def and less dmg. (more 1vs1 especially against STR)
Fire more mag def and more dmg. (more groupwar and strong vs nukers)
But if you don't like PvP then I guess you are more of a group war kind of player.
Light/cold will prob be the future for 90 cap. I've seen no numbers on it.. but that's what I keep hearing.
