Parry or defense

For the skills, which one should i pick, the ones that increase parry or the noes that increase the defense?

It depends on what character build you are looking to go for. If you are a fire/light then get the parry skills from lightning. If you are ice/light then you can get both. It all depends on which imbues you decided to use, and remember dont pick too many or else your masteries may go over 300 at a higher level.
