Pure INT - Spear or S/S?

I'm using a bow until lvl 30, so I've got time to decide. What do you think I should go with? Spear or S/S?

Pure int should go s/s for the extra defense from the shield. Pure int spear will give you the most damage, but will die fast. Most all pure ints are s/s.

Mana Shield might affect the survival of pure int spears when the update comes. MAYBE ... not sure

Yeah, I'm still waiting for that also to decide whether to hybridize or not.

Yeah I'm a pure int spear (lvl4x) now and I would suggest you go s/s...

As much as I love the heavy hittin damage of spear have got to agree I could really do with that shield and knockdown would be nice as well

Yeah Heuksal does give you cheolsam which gives you extra hp but I would still prefer to be s/s - so plz take it from a guy with experience - if you are pure int go s/s - NOT SPEAR

In fact if I had enough time and money to delvl heuksal and lvl up bicheon I would swap but I don't have enough time to farm or enough money to used cursed hearts - so plz don't make my mistake

I VOTED SPEAR BECAUSE:
with spear if you get first hit you do more damage, so if againts a pure INT then youve killed him basically, STR pures dont hit very hard without imbues anyway so you might have a bit of time to get your nukes ect in. just beware of the knockdowns.

BUT

if you do have a spear get high parry ratio to cover the loss of the shield
or you could do S/S

NEVER, AND I MEAN NEVER GO SPEAR TRUST ME!! I went from S/S to spear, and i truthfully regret my choice, but now it is hard to go back because i do not have anymore silk for reluctant potions, nor the patience to go kill for them, and it is also hard for me to trade my +7 spear for a +7 sword and +5 sheild.... so, GO S/S!!!!!!!!!! BTW, if you like pvping you might have a chance to stand longer against a full str...

first off, smart move to bow till u get your nukes. you've got that right.

next, spear vs s/s really depends on your preference. i dun see problems with a pure int spear in garments that many seem to be experiencing. i'm using normal gears, based entirely off drops. i do get some good ones (the "hand me downs") time to time from guildmates, but not much.

to me, spear or s/s, both survive just as well. one's a thicker meat, the other is a tougher meat. 1 hits harder than the other all the time. the other gets a chance to avoid a hit totally. that's my perspective.

Well, if you want to rock in PvP, go neither of them.

Pure int spear is useless against str's(especially archers) unless you have the net connection of your life, but rips s/s appart.
Pure S/S has a way better chance to fight str's due to the castle shiled thingie and to the fact that str will take longer to kill you, thus raising your chances for a block, but is almost useless against spear.Unless you have a godlike BR.

Now i see int as a support char, so if i had to build another int, i'd build a 5:1 hybrid spear(again) because it behaves damn nice

. Your choice of what to go though...Anyway if you choose s/s and get to a pretty high lvl, you can share me your thoughts on it

I am level 80 pure int spear I have experienced it for 80 levels so I KNOW how good a pure int spear can be at higher levels. I will suggest you go with spear if you don't have a sun sword. Because you are not going to kill any str with a 72 sword. Being a spear isn't that bad if you knew how to play it correctly during pvp. Yes, you will die easily only if they crit you. That's why you always want to have a sword/shield with you when pvp, switch weapon accordingly. The damage output from a pure int s/s is nothing near a pure int spear. If you want to have a chance to kill ANY build in the game, pure int spear is the way to go. If you want to just stay alive a little longer and can't kill any str, go ahead use s/s.

Pure str bow+7 can't kill me unless they double crit.
Pure str glaive+7 can't kill me unless they double crit.
Pure str blade+7 just can't kill me.
I can take them down with a nuke+sss+mars, +7 spear (of course if none were blocked).

I do not have any sun gears, just +5 full blue.

Pure INT's Are Always Going To Die Quickly, S/S Is Just Going To prolong That By A Small Amount of Time. Just Stick With A Spear And Make Sure U Kill Em Before Thye Kill You
