Quick question, Does your Weapon skill mastery increase your overall Nuke damage?

Thanks in advance.

Nope. It only increases your damage with weapon skills. Raising your force (fire, lightning, cold) trees will result in higher powered nukes.

So a nuker doesnt really have any need for weapon skills then?

you could say that, but if u intend on pvping 1vs1, nuking won't be enough. in a group fight, its fine tho

I was just thinking say up lightning for thunderbolt AoE, and the % increase and then use fire nuke for ranged spell. if i used thunder for close range and fire for long range wouldnt that be just like using a weapon.

Or am i going down the wrong track.

Wrong track, you need weapon attacks to prevent your enemy from doing damage to you, such as with knock back, stun, and knock down. That allows you a bit of space to pot up and also allows you not to be knocked down, stunned, knock backed by others. They're are also generally a lot quicker than nukes.

Ah.

Ok, thinking ahead you apparently cant be immune to ice, if u made a ice/lightning nuker would that be decent (ice for long range and freezing, lightning for closerange and quick casting)

(just trying to make a allround fun/decent pvp build were you dont need to put much work into it)

You could also do fire/light/ice, then you have a crap load of nukes which are all strong, and mana shield.

You could have 30 masteries into weapon as well, and that would be good for passive.

But generally in pvp nukers will use weapon skills.
