Just started and learned about gaps

I'm currently level 9 and have my mastery at 9. I know it's not very far, but I want to keep this char name :(

I just learned about gaps and how I shouldn't have spent any skill points until level 5 and then level 14. Will being level 9 with 9 mastery affect me in the long run? Or will I be able to fix it by not spending skill points? Hopefully I don't have to remake.

Also, should I be using a 6 gap?

It would be helpful if you would post some other information about your character, like what build are you going to do.

Lvl 9 isn't far, the only mistake you can make by that lvl is spending the stats points (str and int) in the wrong way, skill points aren't a problem at that lvl. A 6 gap should be good, but know that you will lvl very slow, since that means you gain 60% sxp and 40% exp. So if you get bored at some point, simply lvl you skills, have fun and farm at lvl 52 at penons (great spawn rate).

I'm going to go pure str bow. So far I've put all my stat points into str and I've put Pacheon Mastery to 9 and Anti devil missile to 3.

Do you think I should restart and follow a guide or is it okay to continue on.

Well it isn't recommended for a pure str to farm at penons, but since you are a bow user it shouldn't be a problem. You are also a very fast lvler with a bow, so you shouldn't have great problems getting to 52.

It's OK to continue like that, you should be able to do good, also get some imbues and similar since they are the backbone of each Chinese characters. If you don't know, a imbue is the first skill in any of the 3 trees --- ice, lightning and fire ---. It raises your damage up to 5 times and every character must use it, if he wants to kill something. Read a few guides and you should do good :).

Ice is maybe not the most popular, but with the new knock-back and stun abilities, you can rock even more if you can freeze your enemy.

Thank you, one more question though.

Since I already have mastery 9, should I level to 16 without using any skill points and then farm SP with a 7 gap from there? When should I stop farming SP?

This is your first character right now you should just experience the game. With that in mind you should not farm at all. Just level with a gap. When you run out of sp you will know you will have to carry a bigger gap lol.

Try to keep your skills to just the necessary ones. For example if you are not going to be a healer do not get any skills in that tree.

Just focus on weapon and 1 force tree for imbue. If you want to take another tree you can, but then your gap will have to be larger for more sp. Don't leave out buffs and passive skills. You won't notice it at first but they help a lot at higher levels. I say try every skill in your main tree. If you don't like it stop leveling it. Its that simple. (except nukes they won't help you)

You should be able to level with a 2-3 gap if you only carry 2-3 trees, and don't max every skill within the tree only the ones you prefer.
