Hello.
I am working on a new blade/ice tanker, i think this is the best build for solo PvP, currect me if i am wrong.


Wich ice stats i should max?

you might wanna try fire because it hits the most and is good in pvp... as to ice stats the buffs Sux the cold wave (frostbite) sux the passive suxs.........................

The thing about Ice is that it has the lowest imbue damage of all the elements. The buffs give you great defense, but you have difficulty putting out damage when you get to high levels. You freeze and frost your opponent wasting his pills and slowing him down so you don't take as much damage, but it is very difficult to put out enough damage to kill the other person until they runs out of pots (which can take forever).

The defensive buffs of ice combined with the fire imbue and fire buff damage makes a good blader.

Ice buffs really stink an extra 2 -8 defense wow? completely pointless after lvl 15 and just get the lightning buffs for extra kick or spend extra sp on better skills so you don't need the buffs so much or so you can kill faster and get more $$$ so you can buy better armor and don't need stupid nooby good for nuthin useless defense buffs (GET THE PIC?)

You really want to argue with me on this?

Have you even gotten the second book of the buffs?

The passive (level 6 passive is 27 phys def) combined with Might Guard of Ice (book 4 of buff gives 55 phys def increase) gives an extra 72 total physical defense. That's essentially an extra armor piece.

When you get a character to Hotan (4x) you can aruge with me, but the buffs are NOT useless. Based on your sig, you don't even have an ice blader character at a decent level so I don't see how you should be giving advice to people on a build you personally have no experience with.

I take about 10-20% less damage with all my buffs active than I do without.

the final def buff of the ice book looks prtty promising;+58 or something to phy def... but it'd take forever to get to that lvl to learn

Don't you think the idea of a blader is to tank?
i think the more you can tank the better you be.

as for what ice stats to max(which IS what was originally asked)...

-get the imbue, of course, max it up as you go
-get the passive, tanks don't say no to extra defense
-get the def buff, again, it's extra defense, and more than the passive
-get level 1 of frost nova. this is useful if you're being a helper tank. you can freeze enemies for other people, without damaging them and taking from their experience(optional)

as for a sub, i'd use lightning. why? as a tank, i'd assume you're going to be using armor or protector, so the boost from grasswalk is nice. so max up grasswalk. also, there are 2 skills here that up your parry, which will help reduce damage taken, so it helps out also.

as for the build in general, don't let anyone tell you it sucks. if you want THE tank in sro, ice/blade is what you want. now, solo PvP will be easy for you at least up to level 33ish(where i'm at, and i don't lose). for higher levels, it may worsen, i don't know, but that's what i hear.

however, i doubt ANYONE out there would tell you that an ice blader sucks at group pvp. it's the biggest tank there is, and can freeze. i don't care if you say autopills take care of it, because they don't. if you've ever been frozen solid while charging up for that nuke or flying dragon, you'll know exactly what i mean.

so stay the course, and don't let cold-haters bring you down.

dude.... if u dont like ICE buffs... just dont use it as well..... but stop flaming ppls decisions here... many ppl find that buff very usefull ( and yes it is )

and at least. COUPLE extra defance dont bother no one if u can bump it up with ur sp...

so think about it now... defance buf + % magic def. buff )

55 defense is alot antoine.

i actually think the best tank would be Fire sub Ice.
Heavy Dmg plus heavy Defense.. just slow as hell cant chase anyone worth a damn. And a bunch of SP farming which no one wants to do :X

So what should i train?
i am level 22 with level 15 blade/sword, level 10 fire, level 10 ice, level 10 lighting.

I want to be a theif, i just can't get it. this is the 3rd account
1st- an archer level 21 people kept telling me that archer is no good for solo pvp (theif).
2nd- a spear user with level 24 full int and everyone said that pure int chars are only good in a team but alone i will die in no time.
3rd- this one and people saying it sucks because i will be slow and i wont hit a shit.

For god sake, do i need to make a sword and glaive chars then quit SRO?

no, you need to just stop listening to other people. no matter WHAT build you use, someone will tell you it sucks. just find something YOU like, and stick to it. you'll have way more fun that way, instead of constantly starting over before you hit level 30 because someone told you to.

Zzzz, ppl who say ice sucks, has one side view, just widen your view ... train at least to book2 then talk-.- Ice defence is pretty good thing as also is it's passive, also ice trait (lvl30, which all say suck) yes has bit less dmg then light and fire, butttt, has lot longer atack range, and shorter cast spell!Till u use your light/fire i can use imbue/trait +lionshout,and end u with simple wep hit-.-
Zzzz, it's not the skill type that matter's, it's how perfectly u can use what u have, with good timings, and combos:)

So for ice/blade TANKER(=long lives, absorbs all dmg) i suggest takin ice def/passive, and light parry/pasive! That's my opinion:)

Actually, if you want a tank go for an ice Glaive, The 55 def like said above is like a shield that doesnt block so it's verry helpful. Im getting rid of fire to get ice since it's alot more helpful to me when I level and pvp. I'm Essentially a Str/int light/ice at the momment but i'm going hybrid so it will help alot not to mention the passive hp boost skill is verry nice.

eh, i'd rather have the extra defense with the shield than the defense plus the HP boost. i don't see the extra HP helping much at all until you can get the very highest levels of it, whereas the shield helps throughout the game. just my opinion though, either would make a good tank for sure. and variety is the spice of life ^^

dude this build is "Awesome" for def,and like others says dude..dont give a shit about what anyone says!!!!!!-thx dont help train your character,so if u like ice and like that build then stick with it and dont give a crap what anyone has to say about it oights!!!!-DQ

Getting there is kinda hard, but if you know what you're doing you'll have the right amount of sp for your build.

Personally, Ice is my last priority as far as sp goes, but I'll see where I stand in a few more levels.

soemone said if u follow peopels decisions youl end up continuously quittign and restartign berfor you hit level 30.. its so true.

myself am a fire sub lightenign blader, i find it effective - fast killing
iv also tryed ice blader, also effective - slow killing, take less hits.

in the end you kill the opponent either way

but basicly my personal thought is, in pvp now, the auto pot system HELPS ALOT..... especialy agaisnt cold frostbitten. set the delay to like 1 second and u univeral pill ur ass off.
bye bye frostbite, untill your hit again...
fire is about DAMAGE not the effect status.

so i nthe end, who cares, it depends on the amount of pots you have, and basicly if you can be bothered to farm the sp for your skills...
