whats the best hybrid ratio for my purpose(listed)?

1st Post ^-^

Actually before trying to find my goal, I need to confirm 2 things from people please ^^;

A) For those with garment int spears (prefered buff off) do pure str glaives actually still deal noteworthy (ie no 1-2 like a low mob would) magical damage? lvl 60-70ish with 2-3gap (i dont want higher cuz theres no new skills yet)

B) How much magical damage do str glaives deal to another str glaive in garm in %? (same parameters)

if caseA is no mag dmg, and caseB is noteable damage - my goal is then find the best "total defense" (phy + mag def; straight addition) by abusing hybrids higher magical def; taking hits from str glaive non-crit(highest mag among strs)~ as a hybrid in protector. Did that make sense? >.<

and yes since no one really knows the math hardcore to figure it out, I would take estimates ^^; i would test myself but I can never seem to find a str glaive my lvl, babel is full of ints :banghead: both guilds im in are ints with 1 str blader lower lvl and 1 hybrid glaive higher lvl. o0or if there are some lvl50 str glaives in babel reading this, i got a lvl 50 nuker garm to test with

thanks in advance

sigh.. cruelty to noobs... 50views 0 replies -_-

how bout just confirming then please? ^^;

if its because i worded it poorly basically all i wanted is the difference in dmg between a non-imbune hit and imbuned hit from a str glaive towards both int garm and str garm at higher lvls.... :(

welcome to srf. :D

pure strs give low mag dmg but high phy dmg & high crit. why would u use garments if ur int & spear in pvp?

B) How much magical damage do str glaives deal to another str glaive in garm in %? (same parameters)

depends on weps, can't answer u here. again, why the focus on mag dmg?

if caseA is no mag dmg, and caseB is noteable damage - my goal is then find the best "total defense" (phy + mag def; straight addition) by abusing hybrids higher magical def; taking hits from str glaive non-crit(highest mag among strs)~ as a hybrid in protector. Did that make sense? >.<

what? my opinion is if u are pur int, u have high mag dmg, hence u use armor coz armos has high phy reins to compensate. if u use garms (garms have high mag reins), u'll be weak against pur str but strong vs pur ints. hybrids use prots for overall versatility, pur in s/s use prots coz they have shield and wants +10 bonus.

sorry not not being much help i guess :cry:

+1

weird questions o_O why do you want to know a pure str's mag dmg??

the focus on magical damage is an attempt to make my hybrid's overall def more efficient than that of a str to compensate lose of hp. (like "normal dmg higher" stuff cept in defense)

my 1:1 protector has higher magdef and lower phy def than pure str garm(more gain than loss last time i checked). in non-crit hits in theory i would take less damage, crit damage only comes every so often and is relative - I will live with that drawback.

the point of my question was to make sure I dont invest too much mag defense to a point that some goes to waste cuz theres no more magic damage to defend agaisnt(if int garm still takes magical damage then my hybrid is just a question of how much hp i want and how much min phy def i want to weaken crits, if int garm does not take any more magical damage, then the number i seek is indeed between str garm and int garm mag defenses ^^;

...hence u use armor coz armos has high phy reins to compensate....

by that compensation your total def actually goes down significantly. if u want to fight a str and have mag def wasted then i agree whole heartedly use prot or armor, but if your fighting my hybrid bow, i still deal significant magical damage to a heavy int hybrid shield garm(he had lots of int in gear tho so his balance was like pure int without int gear~), so it seems counter productive to lower total defense & lose bonuses~

...before someone says "because magic is always higher", well try comparing together a lvl 67 pure str in npc armors with that of lvl 67 pure str in npc garments, unless i made an accident in my calc the armor actually has higher total def :shock: it was like 100+ over, and this is still with some of ur gear lagging 5 lvls behind cuz npc wont sell you latest available to lvl 67 for some parts so i assume it would be even higher otherwise

hope that wasnt too long to read ^^; its a bad habit of mine

str DO do noteworthy int dmg because of the biased towards int on... everything

every wep has higher int than str so yeah, around 20~30% of their dmg still

hmm real interesting.. when i'm bored some day and got my gap closed I'll test this out. Do like 30 hits with and 30 without to see what the diffrence is.

Not that I would go hybrid after this... but would like to see what perfect mag balance/ phy balance comes out of this.

and jichiong I don't agree. Garment is strong against pure int, pretty much own a same lvl pure int with armor. And garment gives you mp save and more speed.
Only thing armor has is more def and imo it ain't that great to give up the benefits of a garment. That's why i chose garment with as much +hp and +str I can find or put on it. That way I have the best of both.
And really only pure ints I've seen own with armor are the ones that have sos. Cause even with +int on them, you still have c.rappy mag defense.

20-30% on what? :(
thx all the same, atleast now i got a ballpark idea of higher lvl str's mag dmg somewhat ^^

and i look forward to your results flexo when/if you close your gap and test. thx in advance if you do it ^^V
