define the term nuke for me plz :(

hi im new to rose and dotn quite udnerstand the term nuking

can anyone explain it 2 me ^.^

A nuke is basically a ranged magical attack
The traditional nukes start at level 30 for fire, ice and lightning
Lion shout is a weaker nuke found in lightning.

Fire does the most damage.
If you are going as a pure int, it is best to use fire as your main nuke, and use lightning for support.

Technically lightningdoes the MOST damage...

Until the fire nuke hits its third book.

Here are the basic comparasins between the nukes:

Fire

Best Average Damage
Moderate Splash Range
Medium Mana Cost
Medium Casting Duration
Only Nuke with third book unlocked as of yet

Lightning

Highest Maximum Damage
Lowest Minimum Damage
Lowest Average Damage
Highest Splash Range
Longest Cast Time
Highest Mana Cost

Ice

Lowest Maximum and Minimun damage
Fastest Casting Time
Lowest Mana Cost
Lowest Splash Range

When I compare my nuke's stats, my fire one has more max damage than my lightning one

I've always heard fire had the maximum damage

Fire 2nd Book: 548~913 (300%) 3/-35%

Hmm.... strange that.. most have that reversed...

I think the 3/35% means that it can hit up to 3 different monsters for 35% of the possible damage.

Let me get this straight. Let's say you imbue fire before using the "fire nuke" it will do more damage? I always just assumed the nuke itself was the full damage. But you can imbue a nuke? Or are people calling the spear throw with imbue a nuke?

yes, u can imbue a nuke and it is stronger than just doing the nuke alone :-D

yea i accidentally copied the penetration ratio on fire, which i didnt do for ice...

And yes, that is what it means, penetrates up to 3 times (4 targets) and hits for -35% each additional target.

Im personally going Fire + Lightning as that is the strongest combination. I dont care if ice is faster casting and lower mana, it simply doesnt compare to having must-piercing force.

I agree with Freedom-fighta, fire and lightning nuke is the best combo. Fire for its obvious high damage, lightning because if its ability to electrify and has must piercing force.
Works great in PvP, lightning nuke him, hope he gets electricuted and his parry drops and then hit him with high damage with fire. and if he still doesnt drop dead, youre lightning nuke must be recharged by then..

wait.... ur saying u can use imbue fire (any weapon), then cast the fire nuke and the nuke will do extra dmg from the imbue?

Also... will the passive +physical dmg % skills like Flame Devil Force also increase your nuke dmg?

No, Flame Devil Force is % Physical Damage.

The reccommended nuking imbue is lightning due to the Electorcution effect. Proccing this effect will lower target's armor, which can be devastating when a 2k + nuke is heading their way.

wont fire imbue be good too since it does more dmg and has a higher % of causing burn, which also causes more dmg?

I think fire imbue would be good pvp cause people prob have autopill for the shock, so the extra dmg from fire imbue would be good.

Lightning imbue might be better pvm?
