Hei guys

I am starting new character,so i cant choose between Glavie str and bow str,i know bow is faster lvler,just need know,which one is funner to play in higher lvls in pvping or job wars.

In my opinion the best is pure str bow because when having distance beams but damage before it touches to you and thus to not clears as much life you that with glavie.

i would go bow if i were you!

I disagree bows have range yes but most of the time you won't be able to get any range people will be all over you so i say glavie it's got more hp is good in pvp and pve + I have one

Bow. Much more fun, and everyone says they're bad in pvp, but my alt OWNS everyone. And his gear is total crap.

Bow is more fun and it grinds fast

It really depends on your playing style. Personally, I prefer Glaive just because of the big damage numbers, and as far as range is concerned it doesn't matter. A Glaiver with Phantom Walk will be up on an Archer so fast he won't know what to do.

Besides phantom away and shoot him... takes a lil while for phantom to regen. remember kids.

my opinion use bow

i am a lvl 67 str. i dropped cold and going with bow and glavie because if you got the gears you can do both. no need for cold. so then you got long range and close up! very fun just gotta get used to it all.

a pure STR with a glavie could be a good dmg dealer.

Bow has the advantage of range. it's ok. i understand but as a weapon is weaker than Glavie. But This doesn't end here. You said bow is faster than glavie. the truth is that when a glavie user is going to hit for one time bow does it too times at the same time. BUT......

Bow always needs HIGH criticals. Good Bows are Twice Expensive than glavies and listen smthing else. IN ANYWAY it doesn't make more damage than a Glavie. it makes 2 hits but

Let's suppose that a glavie makes with 1 hit 100HP damage the bow makes 50+50. this NO more damage. BUT. at critical hits it's too difficult to do 2 criticals hits one after the other. Since critical hit is :

HIT * 2 means

Glavie:
100*2 = 200 HP dmg

Bow:
(50*2) + 50 = 100 + 50 = 150 HP dmg.


that means you miss a lot of damage. it's ok... the numbers i told are not smthing great 50 or 100. but at higher levels when the damage you can do is 1k or 2k or even 3k and more you will lose so much damage that bow doesn't worth cause then:

glavie:
3k * 2 = 6k

bow:
(1500*2) + 1500 = 4500

isn't 1500HP dmg less a serious damage you lose that you can think off?


Magic for a Pure STR doesn't count at all. I started playing at Persia server and i am building a pure str. the balance between Physical and Magical even in my lvl is 92% Physical and 40% magical.
as an STR you can understand is that "FORCES" can help you for giving you a little help like ice/lightning/fire protection.... Grasswalk etc. they 'll boost a little your atacks but only for a very little amount that you will not see any serious difference than your normal.


Also don't forget that you will not have always the oportunity of distance..... and makes bow sucks more.

My Opinion is that bows are very great for doing your farming (if you want to farm) or just doing your quests. If you want to PK and start trading/thieving/hunting bow is not a good option. at least NOT for STR builds.

bow is amazing, but you need a back up so drop cold and have hueksal. its TIGHT! trust me

noobs bow is gonna own when new skills come out we are gonna have stun and knock back

So, that proves my point even more.
Pure str is terrible until lv 42, and If I'm doing well at 31... That proves its greatness.

somewhere i do agree with you but my lvl 34 glaiver owns all pure ints in
pvp of my own lvl even if they have a shield and armor
they only do 1,2K dmg to me which isnt much because i have 3400 hp and
crappy gears

That's not entirely true... New soul spear, ghost spear and quad stabs are coming up. nothing is gonna change in PvP IMO. only strong bow will stun, and nobody uses strong bow in the middle of a fight, you know.

Go with glaive, better for PvP and such.

Btw, bow is NOT faster than glaive in PvE. Glaive has higher damage, thus it's faster. I remember clearly when Babel opened, 1st people to reach cap were nukers, then glaives and THEN archers.

A dual bow/glaive build levels exceptionally fast. Because you use the bow to lure mobs, and then mars -> prince, or prince -> petal.
This build is also very strong against uniques.

That build is gimped already at 80 cap, not to mention 90.

if you want the women and glory, go glaive; if you are happy with support, go bow

Pure Str Glavie fire is like the best build + i also have one level 45+++ its leveling up atm right now grinding cant wait till level 47 with the combos

dude.. if bow crits you don't wanna see it's dmg..
with my old bower lvl 70 i almost 1shot a pure int with devil arrow only.. and if not then i do a crit with anti devil bow.

if archers can crit, so can glaivers

glaivers got KB and hp bonus, what do archers get? range?
