Can someone name the good ones and tell me what they do? I wanna be able to hit hard and kill quick. Well as quick as a glavie can that is. I hear people talking about combos...r they any good?

The character section might contain some good info...
But I'll make a summary here
Get soul spear series and ghost spear series.
Try maxing them. Also get flying dragon since that would most probably be your only ranged attack and also get combos as they are really good in combat. Thats all I know that's good for glavie.

Don't rush for Flying Dragon if you want to kill quick. You can put that off until later. Just focus on Soul Spear, Ghost Petal, and Chain Spear. Flying Dragon has the lowest damage of the three.

I have a 57 Fire/Glaive build and I dont claim to be an expert by any means but this is what I would do!
Max Ghost and Soul spear skills......these are the main killers, they regen almost perfectly to use them 98% of the time. Max the life buff at the bottom.....
Get 1 in Flying Dragon and 1 in Chain. Now the higher chains are nice in PvE but not in PvP that I have seen, the damage is low and the attack isnt a fast string its easy to heal thru.
Flame Body series.....get book 2 and work on book 3.....you will also want the Buff for element damage protection.....I have it at book 2 level 1 ATM
You want your imbue up some.......only add to it later, if you add early its too expensive on MP IMO and not a big impact.
Anything extra you can afford to spen I suggest putting in grasswalk. Sure would be nice to get the 55% speed boost but that is level 52 light and will take farmed SP to get I beleive, but you should be able to get to say 30-31 and get like 39-41% out of the first book, maybe even get teh teleport. Then late game you might be able to level this more. I suggest keeping this lower until later levels like 40+ when you have SP to spend, btu get level 10 early simply for the level 1 boost and the parry ratio.....dont go past level 1 in pary ratio, its only 1 parry/lvl with more.
I personally wouldnt add to cold unless you are going to get some freezing skills and use them....the cold armor level 1 boosts arent worth a crap in the end game its 2+2 at level 1.
Basically the Flying Dragon is to pull mobs, or to hit 2-3 mobs at once for herding. Anything behind you will also get hit when you use this skill and its great for non-aggro mobs for herding like Ujigis where you will spend alot of time eventually. Also grat for Shades to hit 2-3 of them then Ghost spear them.....
The Chain is simply for levelin.....many mobs you can kill with one Soul Spear and then follow with a Chain which in later game cost less than SOul/Ghost. As is wiht every mob you should evaluate your skillset, look for the most efficent combo.....doesnt do you any good to Soul/Ghost for 8-10k damage when you only need 6K and a SOul/Chain can do that for you.
Stay Garment.......no need for anythign else up to 60 at least. I have noticed some of the 61+ changing to Protector for the cave but that is a long way off for you.
That Fly guy had a good Fire/Glaive build......follow it, it has the necessary stuff......
BTW, the first books of SOul and Ghost still do some solid damage up into the 50's so carry them. If you get interrupted you can use them and thier MP cost is cheap. Soul/Soul 1st book, or Soul/Ghost 1st book may work for many mob kills.......Ghost/Ghost is a primary combo for herding/mass killing even now at 57.
I carry this on my main skill bar.....
Imbue/SOul 2/Ghost1/Ghost2/Health/Teleport/EMPTY(pills for transports)/Chain 1/Soul 1/ Pills for conditions
Flying Dragon book 1 level 1 is on my mouse button......
In PvP it is pretty much Soul/Ghost and hope they crit!

I disagree on one thjng with stinger , the combo moves are actually very good IMO and I would really level the first one and the 5 hit one. But yea he has a point in that it's not good for pvp , though you need to level too and using ghost pedal and soul spear only is pretty boring...

aww, STINGER.. i was gearing up for a long-winded reply in true SuicideGrl fashion, and you had to go and steal my thunder! <shakes fist> haha j/k, i agree with everything you said. the only other thing i would say,. however, is that in my experience your combos (the chain series) are excellent against shield users. 3, 4, or 5 hits means that that's that many tries per skill to get past their block ratio. even if the skills don't do much dmg, i'd rather have a skill hit 2x for lower dmg than have a massive crit get blocked.

Im a str/fire/glaive myself and I have tried quite a few things. First, as most people said, max soul spear, ghost spear, and cheosam(?) skills. Second, in fire skill, get imbue and passive. I tried the Flame body wisdom, but only got about a 30-50 dmg increase (maybe better at higher lvls, but eh...not worth it for the cost.) Third, get a lvl 1 cold imbue. If like me, a str has no mp and therefore needs something of very low mp to use constantly on quests and grinding. In pvp, use ice then chain to freeze and then switch to fire, etc. I have won many battles using that combination. (Also lost many due to my reluctance to pot in pvp battles ^_^)
All this is what I feel is best for me. Please feel free to totally disagree with any/ or all things I have said
