im currently a level 14 using a bow to sp farm...im wondering which weapon i should take..spear or S/S?

im just stuck and i know the facts..but now i want everybody's opinion

S/S
shield helps block attacks
knockback for monsters is good in PvE
absorbs less damage and uses less pots
wont have to go through the trouble of equiping and shield and doing fire shield

spear
more magical damage on nukes
hp bonus is nice
does more damage than S/S
uses more pots than S/S

i would also like to have somebody that's played a S/S int hybrid and a spear int hybrid to comment on this

to me if you go s/s you should basically go pure int and spear for int hybrids

Make sure you'll be able to have %100 magical balance at cap. As for the weapon, i think it is difficult to handle spear. You'll need more defence, better plussed and blue items (even some SoX) which means more gold. I also believe S/S is way better in wars. In case of getting ganged you still have a chance to survive. But sure it's all up to you.

also if you plan on playin at 90 cap still u cant dual weps ( spear, s/s) cuz of 300 mastery cap

My main is s/s hybrid, and it owns pure str every time.
Usually pure int too, but sometimes they nuke me and I can't find them, and by the time I do find them, I die.

Anyways, I'd be s/s.

You should actually be pure str.

pure str bow is ownage , but isn't the best in 1v1.

best combo is bow & blade, a glaive would make it perfect.
Blade combos and tanks (can't kd though)
bow suplies high crits and damage and freezing (assuming it's ice archer).
Glaive supplies stuns and high damage.

Anyways, I like my alt alot, but his sp is a bit messed up. I'm gonna 0-gap it when I fix it though.

i advise keeping up with the bow and the spear

im leaning towards S/S but i want to do more magical damage with nukes...does having a spear make a huge difference in nuke damage compared to S/S?

mayb around 2k diffrence, and no offense raingul but have you seen a pureint s/s at 80 with full alchemy? i dun know about ur server but it pwns on alps

hybrid ~ go spear. if you dont you will be harder to kill, yes,
but you will also lack damage. also, some of my friends quit
their s/s int hybrid since leveling got so slow. i think spear is
more fun to play on a hybrid.

with spear 80-85% (naked magic balance)

light 90

with sword 85-90% (naked magic balance)
bicheon 90
fire 90
light 90
heuksal 30 (just for hp passive)

or

bicheon 90
fire 90
light 80
heuksal 40 (just for hp passive)

sword
a little bit more dmg than glavie
can block
has knock down
you add more blues to the shield

spear
about the same dmg as pure int sword
has big crits
has more hp than sword

personally i prefer sword but a lot of people like spear

i guess i'll go with a spear int hybrid and see how it goes

but to get fire shield, do i have to equip the shield to use it or just keep it in my inv?

Take it out to buff, then you can switch and the buff still stays.
