is an pure str bow lighting imbue good ?? it will spare you allot of sp because you're skilltrees are then : Pancheon and Lightning

and why do NPC thief bows always use lighting ?? I never saw a NPC thief doing ice or fire imbue but allways lighting......

Full STR bow with pacheon and light will level fast and require few SP,
BUT:
You will lack phys. attack buffs from fire
You will lack mag. defence buffs from fire.

Cosider this when you make your choice.

And you will lack pissing-offness from ice and phys defence.

I might have been lightning if there wasn't that whole damage transfer thing.
