Nukes?!

I've read numerous posts that advocate PureSTR should avoid spending SP on Nuke books. Well, which ones are the nukes?! How do I determine a nuke?! Or am I just confused?

The nukes are those skills in the 7'th row of you skill window. The nukes are: Flame wave - arrow, flame wave - burning, flame wave - wide, wolf's thunderbolt, tiger's thunderbolt, snow storm - ice shot, snow storm - ice rain. Their damage looks like this: magical attack power: x (250% OR 300%)
